The two most common reasons the washer won't spin with a load is either the belt needs to be replaced (pretty cheap to fix) or the transmission is going on it (may as well buy a new machine). There are other less common problems, depending on your model. I would suggest calling a repairman who deals with all makes of washers, rather than the Sears repairman, unless it is under warranty. My front loading Kenmore had a problem and the Sears guy tried to tell me I was overloading the machine. He charged me a fortune and did nothing. Called an all makes repairman and he found a baby sock had made it's way to the drain and was clogging it.

if the machine fails to spin and makes noise there are thee things to check .if it fails to drain the water check if something is stuck on the drain pump no 2 turn the drum with your hand and check if the drum is moving freely if not something is stuck between the drum and the housing if the bearings are faulty the machine spins but makes alot of noise towards the end of the cycle i hope this will help you.

Thanks for the info. I found $1.64, pen, Lego pieces, a bracelet and a child's sock. I wouldn't call it a screen but a secret hideaway:)

Check the shocks on the drum to make sure they are ok. if they wear out the drum spins out of balance and the computer wont allow it spine because it would WALK and damage itself.

This issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Ensure that the appliance is balanced/level on the floor. Contact an appliance service company.

Some how there is debris like socks or something small getting down and blocking your drain plug. take the bottom panel off your machine by removing the 3 (1/4") screws at the very bottom of your washer. once the panel is removed you'll see a 1 1/2" PVC white valve plug. open that by turning it to the left untill open (WARNING ALL THE WATER WILL DRAIN OUT THOUGH THIS PLUG) remove debris and you all set.
