Without a schematic, I would check and replace any capacitor that either smells like it burnt out, or is physically damaged (just by looking at it); or if the top of the capacitor is bulging- all signs of defects. Please be careful when working with capacitors especially hi-voltage. Make sure you disconnect the tv from the outlet before servicing it; and properly discharge the hi-voltage capacitors. Plenty of youtube videos on how to do so. Failure to properly discharge capacitors will be lethal if mishandled during the troubleshooting process. Good luck on your project!
Most of these TV's have switched mode power supllies that run very hot. There is a likely chance that the capacitors have cooked (burst) on the PSU board. They are common capacitors. Open up the TV and with the mains electricity turned off, check the 'X' on top of the tubular capacitors. If they are bulging, rather than flat, then unsolder them and replace them.
I've repaired many of these sets because of this problem.
Hard to diagnose without knowing what kind of T.V. you have. Some of the older models had problems with the "cold solder" used on the boards, they would develop small cracks and to correct this you would have to reflow solder on all the bad solder joints. If you have a DLP it may be a worse diagnosis. The DLP T.V.'s are known for having bad capacitors and there are many of them. Being that this is a common problem Mitsubishi has an electronic chasis rebuild program.I would contact Mitsubishi consumer services to try and get them to cover some or all of the repair. Hope this helps.
Try website like Tvrepairworld.com they sell these capacitors kits put toghether for most of the DLP tvs DM power supply board repair.Talk with them they should help u further.
The DM is not completeing the boot sequence due to failed capacitors on the DM power Board. Very common problem with that model DLP. You can get the V26 DLP DM repair kit at the following link which has the replacement capacitors and step by step detailed instructions on how to do the repir. Its listed under the repair kit category. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
