Suggestions on how to return a netopi 2247 back to factory state when pressing the reset button for 30 seconds does not work

If you have forgotten your username and password, depending upon the BRAND and MODEL of your router, there should be a reset button. Use of this reset button will return your router to FACTORY DEFAULTS, eliminating ALL SETTINGS you have made to it, and allowing you to set a new USERNAME and PASSWORD.
Use of this reset button is referred to as a "30-30-30" reset. This means that you power the unit up, hold the reset button for 30 seconds, release the button, unplug the router, hold the reset button for 30 seconds again, keep holding the button while you plug the power back in, hold the button for 30 seconds after plugging the router back in, then release the button. When the router self-restarts, again unplug the router, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in. The router should then be back to factory defaults, and you may start fresh with it.

1. Press down the "Reset" key in the back of the router for 10 seconds.
2. Hold the key while turning off the power (or pulling the power plug) for 10 seconds.
3. Plug the power back in and keep holding the "Reset" button for another 10 seconds.

It's called the 10-10-10 method. Some routers require to keep the power off for 30 seconds.
Sometimes you can just hold the reset button and the router reboots and is back to factory settings.

This all depends on the brand and model you have.

with most routers there is a reset button you can hold in for about 10 seconds which will return the device to factory settings. If this does not work try the 30 30 30 reset:
with the router powered on press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then without releasing the reset button, pull the power cable from the device and wait a further 30 seconds, then plug the power back in again without releasing the reset button for a final 30 seconds. You can then power off and back on and (fingers crossed) it should be OK. If this is not the case then it is bricked and unless you are good with electronics hardware you should just replace the item.

Resetting the router to the factory defaults will delete any changes you have made to the router, including any security settings. This should be used as a last resort.
The first method involves simply pressing a button located on the back of the router. The image below (courtesy of Linksys) shows where the button is located.

To reset your router, use the following steps:

1. Press the reset button for 30 seconds.
The settings should now be returned to the factory default settings, meaning any changes you had made would be deleted.

2. Open up your Web browser and enter "192.168.1.1? in the address bar.
3. For the login, leave a blank ID and enter "admin" as the password.

Reset your router, there is a button on the back to reset it back to factory defaults, locate the button and press and hold it for about 30 seconds.

You have to do this.

THere is in the back a reset button.

With the router on.

NEVER RELEASE THE RESET BUTTON UNTIL FINISHED.
1. HOLD THE RESET BUTTON FOR 30 seconds by watch
2. PULL OUT THE POWER CABLE while still holding the RESET BUTTON for 30 seconds.
3. WITH THE RESET BUTTON STILL PRESSED plugged in the power cable and continue holding for 30 seconds.

4. Then release RESET.

Device is probably crashed. Try Soft reset first, if it does not recover in fair state then perform hard reset, that return device to factory settings

Soft reset : Press mode and lap/reset for 10 seconds, then release, then press start for 10 seconds, and plugg device on PC when started, it will start, and charge then.


Hard reset : device must be off, Press mode and Start buttons together for 10 seconds, then (without releasing these) pulse press lap/reset button, you'll get a request for confirmation to go back to factory settings. You'll loose all data, but device should be back in stable state.

do a hard reset - press the little button inside the device, while unplugged and disconnected. hold with a paperclip for at least 30 seconds.

This will reestablish factory default settings

Try the following:

1. when the unit is powered on, hold down its reset button for 30 seconds
2. while still holding down the reset button, unplug the router from power and hold for an additional 30 seconds
3. still holding down the reset button, turn on power to the router again and hold for 30 more seconds

After this process (a total of 90 seconds) is complete, your router should be restored to its factory default state.
