Doesn't work, just beeps

I cleaned my Grind and Brew as the "clean" light came on. It worked the day after that, but the next day, all it did was beep. It is less than one year old. Help!

    The model is DGB 300.

  • mt4501 Oct 02, 2008

We already tried pressing the power button and nothing happened except a red light came on. Need another solution. Thanks.

  • mt4501 Oct 02, 2008

We have the manual that came with the coffee maker, but it does not contain information about this particular problem. All of the "innards" are seated properly, but it simply won't work.

  • mt4501 Oct 02, 2008

Well, we removed and replaced everything numerous times and it still didn't come on. Will try again tonight and let you know. Thanks very much.

  • mt4501 Oct 03, 2008

I note that you've charged me for a solution which I've not really accepted because everything that's been suggested has already been tried.

  • mt4501 Oct 03, 2008

I am well aware that the coffee maker won't work unless all the parts are seated correctly and the lid is closed, etc. (it's our second grind and brew--the first one still works (thank goodness) but some of the housing broke off and it was unsightly which is why I bought a new one). I've removed and reinserted the various parts numerous times, but the machine continues to beep and won't start. Is there a repair center located in the Schaumburg, IL area?

Dear Sir/Madam,

If coffee maker is used daily clean tap mechanism weekly.
To clean tap, unscrew bonnet, remove seat cup, wash in
soapy water.
Rinse all parts in hot water, dry with a soft towel and reassemble.
Be sure the tap bonnet is tightened firmly to prevent leaks.
Never insert a brush into assembled tap as it may damage
silicone seat cup.
The heating well inside the coffee maker should be cleaned thoroughly
each week, especially if the coffee maker is used daily.
Partially fill coffee maker to above tap level with white vinegar and turn on.
When red light goes off and green light goes on, unplug coffee maker and
allow to cool.
Pour out vinegar and wash interior with a non chlorinated cleanser until all
mineral deposits have been removed.
Rinse interior thoroughly with hot water, then dry with a clean towel.
If the coffee maker is used to dispense hot water, this cleaning routine
should be daily.

I had this same problem and can be frustrating. Every part must be snugly in place. I took the removable parts out and put them back a second time, and that did the trick. I must not have had everything in 'just right'.

Hi,
The machine will not run if the covers for the coffee grinder, the filter basket and the machine itself) are not properly closed. It will beep and stop running if it is turned on when one of the covers is open or if one is opened before the end of the cycle. The beeping will stop as soon as the cover is closed.
To start the machine again, press the ON button. Hopefully it should work.. Leyt me know..
Thank you.......

Beans grind and are wet but coffee doesn't come out... it goes through the cycle and spits out a little. When cycle is complete, the water light comes on, but after priming the same thing occurs.

This tells me that either the grind is too fine and or the brew unit screen, and discharge tube needs to be cleaned. Try this first press the button for making a espresso using the manual function, do not add coffee through the door then press the brew button. If water flows freely then the grind is too fine, if you get the water prime error then the screen under the red o-ring on the brew unit needs to be cleaned.

DGB-900 Grind and Brew grinder

One idea to try. I noticed with my grind & brew that the moisture never evaporated from the inside top of the machine. Since that cannot be good over a long term, I have started leaving the top open during the day after I clean the machine in the morning. Your problem is why I started doing that. Why don't you try leaving the top open for a couple of days and see if drying the machine out doesn't cause some of that gunk to dry out?

Beeping for no reason

When you were cleaning it, you may have broken off the stem that presses the plunger in when the lid is closed. I did the same thing and glued it back on with Gorilla Glue. Sometimes if it starts beeping, you can press the plunger in with a pen and it will finally *******!

Coffee grinder on brew and grind won't work

Make sure the slot between the grind basket and filter basket is clean and free of grounds - then inspect the area near the grinder motor - use the brush that came supplied with the Cuisinart to clean that area out. Once thoroughly cleaned, try one more time to Grind. Let me know if it works.

10 cup cuisnart stainless steel & black coffee maker

The beep indicates numerous things. If the top lid is open, it will beep, if you try to depress the brew or timer buttons. There is a button next to the grinder unit, that gets depressed when you close the lid. Check the lid to make sure the tab on the lid hasn't broken. The beep also indicates that brew cycle has finished, although, that is supposed to be only 5 beeps.

Coffee maker beeping

Is your grinder in and the lid down? My coffee maker (grind & brew) started beeping after I cleaned it and turned the left knob clockwise with the grinder still disassembled. There's a little button that is depressed when you close the lid with the grinder in there (I'd guess it's a safety feature). I pressed down that button, and the beeping went away.
