Colourful picture We have a circular rainbow of colour all the time. I've checked the plugs in the back. Any ideas if it's terminal? It's only two or three years old

Discoloration of this sort is caused by magnetism. All CRT TVs (like yours) have a de-gaussing coil around the picture tube that de-magnetizes the screen (more specifically the shadow mask) every time you turn it on. It is likely that the circuit that controls this coil is at fault. There is probably a cold solder joint where it connects to the main circuit board.

The other scenario is that someone (small child generally) has run a magnetic object very near to the screen, magnetizing the shadow mask (inside the picture tube) and causing a rainbow effect. This is less likely if the rainbow effect is a nice even circular shape. Generally if it's been magnetized by a magnet as described the discolored areas will appear blotchy.

In short, if you have some electronics skills, get in there with your soldering iron and touch up the connections to the de-gaussing coil. If not, find someone who does.

How do I fix my Visio tv when the screen suddenly goes almost black and white?

Hi Evan
Essentially it's a computer inside a modern Flat Screen TV these days. Not a lot that the average person can do...
But... if you feel capable of opening the back....
Once you get inside and check for loose or poor connectors,
I would be looking for leaky Electrolytic Capacitors.
Usually in the power supply section.
Look for brown fluid leaks on PCB & a very slightly puffed out or bowed top on the cap. (ready to explode)
Take a picture of suspect. Take note of Polarity (black stripe) & write down uf & voltage & temp values.
eg 1000uF @ 25v
To prove you are on the right track, you can connect a similar rated Cap across (in parallel) the existing Cap.
Depending on space etc. Even by short extension wires.
Power up & see results. Fault Gone or Not?
Then...
Unsolder & Remove suspect Cap & try to replace with higher voltage rating & slightly higher uf capacity depending on space available around the components.

Good Luck

Can you provide a user manual for an Inovix iDP-713D Portable DivX DVD Player Widescreen 7" demonstrating where input to a 40" flat screen Samsung UE40C85UKXXU goes?

On the back of the TV you should see the component connections. Connect the Yellow plug to the Green/Y terminal. Connect the white plug to the white audio terminal and red plug to the red audio terminal. Change your TV input to Component and you should be set.

Sony KV-32FX20U picture has a colour cast

Check its video output card [a card directly plugged on to the back of the picture tube] for any loose solder terminals. Re-solder all the suspected solder terminals there, by applying a little more solder to each points. A bad solder point can cause this type of problem.

if you have this tv connected to the internet try and see if it needs updating. it also could be the pip settinmg picking up an air signal instead of a cable channel.

How to connect front panel connectors to front panel headers on a imperial GL VE 20021218 motherboard

Hi there.
Get a strong flashlight and a magnifying glass (if you have one). On the motherboard look for the front panel, it should be marked PWR and coloured green, also the plug that connects to it should be marked PWR_SW. On some boards there are no colours but the markings are the same, so a good close look.
Have a look at these pictures for an idea >>>>>>

Verticle lines

You should connect your TV to an Active DtH Connection or a Live TV Cable or even to a working DVD/VCD Player etc. and tune it to the frequency of the same and it should start working. If it doesn't, please contact Service Center.

LG PLASMA TV WITH COLOURED LINES OVER SCREEN

If the Video (Picture/Pix) is gone but you can hear the Audio (sound), then it could mean the YSUS PCB Assembly is gone/kaput/finish. Can replace the PCB, not repair the PCB due to timing circuitry involve. Cost maybe roughly $500 depending where you located. The PCB is located on the left hand side of your TV when you are facing the back (Back open). Might find 3-4 brown flex membrane connecting to the plasma panel. The PCB has a silver or black aluminum heatsink (big) on it.
Good Luck.
