The dryer had stopped heating and after doing some investigating I found that the hi limit thermostat was tripped. I replaced it and was getting heat again except now it was overheating (heating coil is not grounded). I then also changed the cycling thermostat figuring that it was the main problem. Unfortunatly my dryer is still overheating, to the point where it is to hot to touch the inside of the drum. Please help...
Check to see if the heating element is grounded to the canister or the bracket, if it is, the element would never shut off when the timer is on even with the motor not running. Turn the dryer to timed dry but do not start the dryer. Open the door and watch the rear left side to see if the element comes on, glowing orange/red/ If it does with the motor not running you know this element is grounded. If both of these check out, you might have a bad cycling thermostat. ( Please check your heating element to make sure there is no part of the element touching metal or any wires are melted touching metal.)
Heating element is not grounded, all ducts are free of lint build up.

Did you remove the metal duct to the left of the t-stat and thermal fuse?usually this gets filled with lint and will take out either the thermal fuse or the high limit, pull it off and clean it,also if the vent line is long, you can stick a leaf blower into the end of it and blow it out.most problems i find in dryers is from lint buildup.
All ducts are clean including venting to outside. I checked the dryer throughly.
if you're sure that element isn't shorted you could have a bad timer.try running it on timed and then auto to see if it cycles off, also is this the cycling t-stat you replaced,3387134. this is the t-stat that goes in the model number you sent.good luck with your dryer

You really need a volt / ohm meter to check for Continuity & Volts
Its well worth the investment... $15.00 bucks give or take a few
I would check to see if you have 220v to back of dryer where the cord mounts to dryer,
If dryer is getting only 1 leg 110 volts instead of the 220 will it not heat.
Check themostates & heater for Continuity... Most models, Now have a.. Hi-limit fuses that need to be checked for Continuity
