Check your setup settings (BIOS) to make sure your booting from the correct drive. If the computer is trying to boot from the cd drive or USB, rather than the hard drive, you will receive this error message.

Hi, I've been having huge problems with my eMachines ET1331G 750gb 64bit desktop. *rebooting errors "NTLDR is missing"- the dreaded blue screen- reinstalled my Router (Cisco Linksys E1000) a few times...

Tracey, I recommend you hire the services of a computer technician who is very familiar with your device. Proceeding further at this point only lessens your chance of recovering your stored data

Hi ... The 'NTLDR missing' means that windows NT Loder file is missing so OS can't boot.
1- Check that you haven't any usb key or something like connected to ur laptop.
2- Make an update to ur OS by using installation CD and choose update option to re install NTLDR file.
About BIOS password you must remember pass or who make it to solve this problem.

I am installing a recovery disk for an emachines computer and i get error message stating that the system 32hal.dll is missing or corrupt. i cant get back to the windows screen to install the missing file...

You have to start your PC with the XP cd-rom install disk, if you have
one.

Then, when you come to the screen with the following option displayed :

To repair a Windows XP installation using
Recovery Console, press R.

Then press [R] to start 'Recovery Console'

When confronted by a prompt asking you for Administrator password - just
press [ENTER]

Once in RC has started - type the following command :

expand x:\i386\hal.dl_ c:\windows\system32\hal.dll

(where [x:] is your cd drive-letter)

*NB If SP3 is installed - then the command you type must be :

copy c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386\hal.dll c:\windows\system32

....instead, as the files are of two different revision levels
(versions).

Then reboot.

"Disk not ready" message

Do a search on your XP machine for autoexec and then right click in the bar that says "Name, Size etc. and make sure to select "type". You will see that the autoexec is of type "NT" and not type bat. then try again.
