My Olympus Camedia c-770 has worked for three years and when turning it on the other day it just stopped. I've removed the battery and card cleaned charged and still no success. Is there a Olympus repairer in Brisbane or Melbourne? Failing restoration is there another Olympus that takes the batteries and Memory card that this one uses

Olympus cameras have a special memory card called xD-Picture Card. You can buy these cards from any cameras shop or from eBay (probably cheaper although they are more expensive than the regular cards).

Go to the support section of the Olympus web site to download a copy to your computer.

The switch may be going defective, or the circuit board that it is sitting on is defective. This would require factory level service. They will most likely change the switch assembly to get the camera working properly.

You have to download Olympus Master 2. (Their program is no longer called Camedia Master.)

the C770 Ultra Zoom has the ability to use cards larger than 512MB and Type M cards but only for still photos. I tried to use a 1GB card and Type M cards with the same problem "Picture Error". Large videos (over 30 seconds or so) or videos utilizing zoom inevitably caused extremely long time to write the file to the card or failed in the process. The camera is only rated for up to 512MB card from the factory. [email protected] if you have other questions...hope this helps

The only solution noted was to see Olypus customer support (not really a solution at all)
