Picture getting dark on my 70" mitsubishi projection

I am not sure which model I have, but the picture is getting dark even I try to adjust the color or brightness. Can someone help? Do I need to clean something at the rear of the tv or something?

I have the same issue but with my 52' WD52525. I replaced the lamp, took quite a while to figure out how to get the stupid light to finally go out and it did. Then, since the color and picture improved some but not completely I began searching even more in the manual for what else I could do to fix the problem and make the picture what it once was. I took off the diamond screen and cleaned it, cleaned the tv itself. I also cleaned the filter and took spray air and cleaned before I put the bulb in as well. What else can I do to adjust the picture or clean it? I was unable to find a picture "brightness" that I could adjust...only colors I can adjust. Can anyone help? PLEASE! I am a woman that is relatively good at fixing things when I have to but this is really not my thing.

I FINALLY got the problem fixed!!! Gee I feel stupid. I called a great local TV repair guy and he came out and fixed it for next to nothing. The stupid part is that all he had to do was take apart the TV's front fascia and clean the mirrors and things inside....it was FILTHY!!! Then the TV was like new again. It looks so good I wanted to kiss him. He advised that you really should be cleaning that about once a year or so to prevent this problem. Also, I live in Nevada with HIGH dust so that doesn't help either.

Service man came in removed whole front screen and frame. My wife gave him some Windex, and he cleaned the mirrors? inside. It was like a miracle. Set was as bright as it was when new.

Why is the picture yellowish with low brightness?

Make sure the lamp is made by Osram and not a no name knock off. Cheap bulbs give poor color reproduction.

My mitsubishi diamond series wd-62825 picture is too dark

There is something I remember and it may be the model you have---Mitsubishi can tell you or you can look for yourself----a few models made at about the time this set was made had 2 mirrors----one a tiny one that faces up and reflects the picture into the large rear mirror.

Dumb idea--the little mirror gets coated with dust and brightness drops up to 70%---

The safe and correct way to know is to remove the entire front screen with its frame---both mirrors (if yours has 2) will be easy to see.

The large mirror hangs at a angle and down so it never gets dirty--don't even think of touching it or using glass cleaner on it--any mark on it will show in the picture.

let me know if you want to remove screen unit to see if one mirror or two---a call to mitsubishi would answer that.

Picture is dark /color won't adjust and standard seting is the same

Any answer or even suggestions would depend on the exact model number of the set.

Fuzzy picture and dark picture and color seperation when hot.

The colors seperating is a convergence problem, as far as being dim this may be related but the TV likely needs service adjustments.

convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

Good Day, Techwanab;

Look for this to be your problem: CHECK FOR OPEN L2C50 PART #325C146030 ON THE SIGNAL PCB, OR BAD CONNECTIONS AND LEAKY CAPS IN THAT AREA.

Hope this was helpful and not too late.

Good Luck, big IRISH.
