Salomon 2005 kiana fitting with burton lexa binding- size advice

I am not sure which size burton womens lexa binding to get. I already own burton mission men small from 2003 and they squeeze by boot at the sides. It is a very tight fight, and I can feel the squeeze down the sides of my feet. My Kianas are size 39 which recommends women's medium on chart but not sure I won't have same problem as the large is size 6 plus. Can you help? I am not able to go to a shop, must order on line. Many thanks

A huge proportion of footwear of all sorts are made using sizes taken from the standard Italian last. It has become a sort of tradition because Italian shoes have been world reknown for elegance - as a nation the Italians have notoriously narrow feet. People who don't have "Italian" feet usually need to buy shoes based on width fit in order to achieve comfort and in doing so will often end up buying shoes that are up to three sizes too long..

Add into this unsatisfactory situation the fact that not all manufacturers cut on the generous side, as with clothes, and the further problem when shoes are produced in metric and then converted into British or American sizes that rarely coincide, providing low cost manufacturers a further opportunity for meanness and rendering the more expensive footwear generally superior as being much closer to the size printed on the shoes or boots. Buying shoes and boots these days with preconceived notions about what size you need is a pathway to unnecessary expense and discomfort and much disappointment.

Only expensive children's shoes, exclusive brands, a very few specialist and bespoke shoes are available in a variety of width fittings for each size, leather shoes do have the benefit of "bedding in" but shoes and boots made of synthetic materials rarely do and if they do it is a slow process.
People who must buy mailorder often order two, three or more pairs at once in order to make comparisons.

If you are not in a position to do that I suggest you either have your feet measured for width and length or obtain the instructions to measure them yourself and then provide the measurements to the shoe or boot supplier or manufacturer and request they supply boots to fit the width of your obviously non-Italian feet.

SOURCE: snowboard binding

No womens large bindings are rated womens size 8 or larger, and mens 7-9. If you have burton bindings you can shorten the adjustable strap. but make sure you strap in and when you crank down the straps you should not be able to move your boots or wiggle them around.

SOURCE: I just want to ask if the Burton P1.1 2009 LARGE

Hi,

Should do... Though to be safe I'd take a measurement of the board width to the shop with you and have a look at the bindings on a board of similar width..
Better still bring the board and your boots in with you and have them fit the binding and then try it for feel before you buy..

My daughter has K2 Debut snowboard bindings which are REALLY hard for her to put on, and especially release. Even I have a hard time. It seems like the black strap with the teeth is just a bit too wide...

Try changing the black straps. You can get them in almost every Sports shop. Just take one off the ratchets with you and try out the different sizes they have.

Good Luck

I need a new ratchet for my 2005 burton FS bindings

You should go to the Burton website and purchase a new set of bindings, or check out eBay and Craigslist to see if anybody has some used parts/bindings for sale.

How to install salomon spx 45 bindings?

Your bindings have a "sliding yoke" system which means that a plate is screwed to the board using four screws and the the binding is mounted to the plate. Once this is done you can loosen the allen key and move the binding around on top of the plate to get your final placement.

Do the ride viper contrabands fit on the new burton boards using the channel system or the retro fit system for the new burton boards

They wont fit directly as Ride bindings are made of very lite metal and need all four screws to stay secure. The best idea is to buy the matching Burton binding or avoid the channel system and stick with 4 x 4 brands

Snowboard boots with reduced length

You may also want to look at how you are setting up your bindings. I have a US 11 foot (29 cm) and with my bindings set correctly have never had any issues with toe or heal drag.

The best way to set up your bindings it to take them off, remove the mounting screws, keep the base plates in and fit your boots into your bindings with the straps still undone. Then, with the board on the floor, position the binding at the angle you like (roughly) and look to see when the toe and heel over lap is even or if you are like me pull the bindings back slightly so that you have little or no toe drag and just little heel drag. It works a treat and I have done this for over a hundred customers over the years.

How do Lamar bindings line up against burton

Burton has a different pattern for their bindings then everyone else. The good news is that the standard pattern will fit on burton boards. You just need to use 4 bolts on the lamar bindings rather then the 3 you would use with burton.
