Since the refrigerator is new, it is probably under warranty. You or your father will need to check the warranty information which came with the refrigerator and either contact the store or online business where it was purchased or contact Whirlpool directly - whatever the printed warranty information states to do.

The refrigerator will probably need to be inspected by an authorized Whirlpool repair person.

Press the OPTIONS button to enter Options mode, then press LOCK to initiate the reset, then press MEASURED FILL to confirm that you want to reset the status light. When the system is reset, the "Order" and "Replace" icons will disappear from the display screen.

your water valve is bad. behind the ref. in back is a cover. unplung unit remove ref. from back wall about 2-4 ft.remove back cover and you will see a water valve. thats the piece that the hose (your incoming water supply line hooks upto) 1/2 fitting. turn water suppy off. remove screw holding valve. disconnect wires one bye one and hoses one bye one.(so you dont mix them up).if your ref has a inline water filter and has not been replaced in a while i woiuld try that first. valve is about 45-85/ depending on your model ,i do not have that.and labor roughly 75-125 to replace depending on were you live and who you use. hope this helps you.

Resetting your "change filter" light:

• Press the light switch (the one that the refrigerator door presses every time you close the door) 5 times within 10 seconds. OR
  
• If the fridge has a filter button, press and hold it for 5-10 seconds.

I have the same problem. I did change the filter located on the bottom front panel of the refrigerator, but the red light is still on and NO ice. I can't figure it out and I know if I call a tech, its a 300.00 bill. Frustrated.
