The manual is at http://www.rca4business.com/products/pc/pdf/instruction-book/25414RE3.pdf I have it set up exactly like the 4 line set up on page 7
There are a couple of problems you may have.
First, the wall jack may not be wired correctly or the wire you ar eusing is a single line wire.
The easiest to check is the wire, look at the plug and see if it has 4 copper leads. If it only has two in the middle two slots then it will only connect line 1. If it has 4 copper leads then it should pass both lines 1 and 2 (or three and four). The middle leads are line 1 and the outer two are line 2.
If the wires all check out then you may have a wall plate that is not wired for multiple lines on the single wire. That will require a technician coming out and rewiring the plate. There are also adaptors available at Radio Shack that will combine two lines to one wire if you have both lines on the wall plate.
I have a blog on 4 line phones if you would like other tips about them. Go to the tag cloud and you will see 4 line phone.
Thanks! I actually have 4 separate wall jacks with four separate phone lines (and numbers) coming into my office. So I think I need and adapter (according to the phone manual) that will combine two lines into one rj11 phone line. Do you know where I could get one. I have only been able to find splitters or 2-line adapters that have male ends and split two line coming out of a two line wall jack
The adaptor is at Radio Shack, you may only be able to get it online. Model: T07843 | Catalog #: 55034722
