SOURCE: my fax log report for

No, this message only reports that your sent report which should be saved in the memory is set to Off.. which means you'll not be able to see the sent report after they are sent. This will not affect your fax. Suppose if you want to print out the Fax report, you need to set this feature On, otherwise you'll not be able to view or print the sent fax reports.

You can set this On from the Fax settings, press the Settings button on the printer, locate "Fax" and go to Fax Report and set the Fax Report to On.. use the arrow buttons on the machine to navigate through the menus and submenus.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

SOURCE: I have a HP PSC

The printer probably giving you an alignment page each time it starts up because the catridge alignment wasn't completed. Place the sheet face down on the scanner glass and press the scan start button. This will finish the process and the printer will remember it was done, and no longer print that page every time. You can download a copy of the manual here from HP if you need one for reference.

Fax transmission reports

What you are explaining should work. If you need prior activity reports from previous faxes, you can press Function then 2 (Act. Report)

I think you might need to press Function, then 7 then 1

From the manual:

Transmission Verification (Xmit) Report You can use the Xmit Report as proof that you sent a fax. This report lists
the time and date of transmission, and whether the transmission was successful.

When the feature is OFF, the report is printed automatically only if an error occurred during transmission. If the report indicates NG, send the document again. If the report indicates you should check the readability of certain pages, resend those pages.
If you typically send multiple faxes to the same destinations, you may need a reminder to identify each fax transmission. You can select OFF+IMAGE or ON+IMAGE to print a portion of the first page of the fax message on the report.

1 For the FAX, press Function , 7 , 1 .
For the MFC, press Function , 1 , 7 , 1 .
2 Press or to select OFF, OFF+IMAGE, ON or ON+IMAGE and press Set .
3 Press Stop to exit.

Hope this helps you.

HOW CAN I STOP THE MACHINE FROM PRINTING AN ERROR REPORT AND WASTING A PAGE OF RIBBON

The brother fax machine will always print out a transmission report when there is a failure to send a fax.

There is no way to turn this feature off.
The closest option to this is turning transmission reports off, but this will still print out a message when the fax does not go through properly.

What button do I press to generate a Fax report - this is not always generated automatically.

Sounds like your Fax Options are set to print on error only. If you want to have both confirmations and error pages do the following:
1 Press Menu until “Fax Setup” appears on the top line of the display. Press Enter.
2 Use the scroll button to find MSG Confirm. Press enter.
3 It may be selected to On-Err. Use the scroll arrow buttons to get to On. Press Enter.
4 To return to Standby mode, press Stop/Clear.
This should make your fax print out a confirmation on a successful or failure transmit of your fax.
If you want to print out the last few sent or receive faxes:
Printing a Report
1 Press Menu until “Reports” appears on the top line of the display.
2 Press the scroll arrow buttons to display the report or list you want to print on the bottom line.
•Phone Book: Phonebook list •Sent Report: Sent fax report •RCV Report: Received fax report •System Data: System data list •Scheduled Jobs: Scheduled job information •MSG Confirm: Message confirmation •Junk Fax List: Junk fax number list
3 Press Enter. The selected information prints out.
You can find your manual in English by clicking here.
Good luck!

My HP M1319f fax machine is having trouble sending faxes only to certain phone numbers. Is this a problem with the actual machine, or the phone line?

I have purchased the HP M1319f multipurpose machine 1 year ago and expected it to print as well as fax. Sadly to say 1 year later, the printing works as expected but the fax never worked consistently for me. The solution I found was to buy a used fax machine and only use the HP M1319f as a printer.

The problem I've read about this problem on HP forums was the fax speed of the M1319f. It is locked to 28.8k which means it is only able to communicate with some fax machines. Older machines that doesn't support 28.8 will get errors and the fax will fail. This is definately an HP problem but considering I purchased this 1 year ago, this problem will never be fixed. Avoid this printer at all costs if your considering to use the fax machine.

Repeated Fax TX report printing

Solution #3 solved it for me. The report kept printing over and over, so I used the menus (roughly) mentioned in Soluton #3 by guest.

My problem was the printer was trying to print the TX Error Report with the image attached. That made the report too big for standard sized paper, so the machine kept telling me to check the paper size, and I'd hit 'OK', and that made the machine try to print the report again, for it continued to think it had not printed a complete report.

Here's what I did...

Go to: Fax Menu
Arrow right ( >) to Maintenance/Settings, hit, 'OK'
Arrow right to (>) to Device Settings, hit 'OK',
Fax Settings, hit 'OK',
Arrow down ( v ) to TX Settings, hit 'OK',
Arrow down ( v ) to TX Report, OK
Select 'Print error only', hit 'OK',
Attach TX image, Select 'NO', hit 'OK"

With the instruction to not attach the TX image, it will print out the error report without the TX image, the report will fit on the paper, and it will clear this problem.

Good luck!
