I do not have the password to unlock BIOS

Hello,
Every motherboard manufacturer and model has different way to reset the BIOS with jumpers in certain positions. However, this trick will work on all motherboards.Remove the round lithium battery that is located somewhere on your motherboard and wait for 5 mins. Make sure the power cable is not plugged to the power supply. After 5 mins replace the battery and you will have successfully resetted the BIOS and cleared the CMOS

need a free power on password repair for toshiba satellite 1400. when unit boots system asks for a password where none was? need to clear the password portion in the bios

Because the BIOS is stored in ROM, it must have a constant power supply to store any changes you make to it, otherwise it would reset every time you disconnected your laptop from AC power. Removing power to the BIOS resets it to factory settings and involves disconnecting a small battery attached to the motherboard. On many laptops, the BIOS battery is easily accessible through a door on the bottom of the unit. Unplug the computer, remove the main battery and touch something metal to ground yourself. Remove any screws holding the BIOS battery door in place. Then identify the battery, (it is generally a small lithium "watch" battery), and remove it taking care not to damage any surrounding circuitry. Let the computer rest for a twenty minutes or so discharge any remaining power, and replace the battery If your laptop does not have an easily accessible door for the BIOS battery, you may have to dive deeper and disassemble the computer to find it. Consult your laptop manufacturer's website for information on replacing or removing the BIOS battery from your model.

Not only the chip inside the motherboard can do it. All you have to do to DISABLE Jumper Setting near by Lithium CR2032 Battery or else in the motherboard by removing in a second (10 secs.) Then put back again and the BIOS were back into default setting.
Good luck!

BIOS PASSWORD

There is a trick to resetting the BIOS password , but it requires you to open the laptop and get to the motherboard. Now I don't know your level of expertise in that field , but laptops can be very trick to pull apart and put back together...so if you are not comfortable doing it , please take it to a professional as I don't want to see you damage your laptop!

Back to resetting the password......you need to access the motherboard of the laptop....on the motherboard is a small circular battery (it is flat and silver)..... that needs to be disconnected from the motherboard to reset all the BIOS information...depending on the model of the laptop , you may be able to completely remove the battery from the clip it is in , or you may need to disconnect the wire running from the batter to motherboard. Below I have put some example pictures to make it clear.

Removing That Battery:

Disconnecting The Cable:

After disconnecting it/removing it place it back in/reconnect it , put the laptop back together and boot up....the password will be reset! Below is a picture just in case you have trouble finding the battery

2 ways, method will vary according to motherboard...

1. locate and change bios reset jumper on motherboard to reset bios
2. unplug computer and remove lithium battery which supplies bios power.

There are also utility programs which can reset password, as well as common backdoor passwords used by bios manufacturers.
