If you are using an SD or MMC card, check if the lock button (on the side of the card - a tiny plastic that you can slide) is on the LOCK position. Slide it to UNLOCK position. If it's already in UNLOCK position, slide it to LOCK , then UNLOCK position.

Good luck and have a nice day!

SOURCE: cant take photos and the LCD screen says "Memory card is locked. Slide lock to 'write' position"

I don't own this camera but My guess is your memory card is in a LOCK SETTING you need to move the memory card to unlocked " wrirte " so you memory card isn't locked.....
Step 1 remove the card from you're camera
Step 2 there is a small little side on the side of the memory chip move that to the unlock position.
step 3 insert the card and start shooting!

SOURCE: Camera says Card Locked and I can't Reformat the Memory Card

From the problem described by you, it seem your camera has gone into a internal memory error and hung. Try to take out the battery, the memory card etc , clean and then reinsert and then power on? Try this it might work.... Generally the camera should start working normally once you will take out the battery, since it will reset.
If it still does not work, then think you might need to take it to Canon. They are very helpful and could sort out if you have system software problem. But Before that, I suggest that you must take out its memory stick, the battery etc and keep the camera like that for about 15 minutes. Then only reinsert the battery (fully Charged) and then try to reformat the memory card. If you are lucky, you might not need to go to Canon. Best of Luck.

SOURCE: THIS MEMORY CARD IS LOCKED, PANASONIC FS42 SILVER/ARGENT

This is usually caused by the SD card, and is nothing to do with the camera. On the SD card there is a small slider - which allows you to lock the card (to prevent accidental erasure).

If you put in on the table with contacts upwards, corner cut top left, then the slider is on the right hand edge, about 1/3 the way down. If it is slid to the top position (nearest the contacts) the card is unlocked. If it is slid down (away from the contacts) the card is locked.

If it is a damaged / "cheap" card, sometimes the slider falls out, in which case the card is locked. You can still read from it, but not write to it until fixed or replaced.

Have you tried the camera with another SD card, to see if the problem persists? (A reputable photo store will often lend you a card for the 20 seconds it takes to do this test).

Testimonial: "such easy instructions to do and it worked straight away, you are, no doubt very much appreciated , thank you ever so much.great stuff"

After locking memory card, do I then unlock it to take pictures and will that then erase the memory card or can you tell me how to so

Locking the memory card prevents you from taking and adding photos to the memory card. It also prevents you from deleting photos from the memory card.
If you want to erase all the photos off the memory card. unlock the memory card, go to the camera's Menu and scroll through the settings ti Format the memory card, then format the memory card.

How to unlock a photo in camara

The protect function allows a user to protect a picture from accidental deletion. To unprotect a picture on your camera, scroll to the protected picture that you want to delete, then press the Menu button (the button to the right of the Play button.) Scroll down the menu and you should come to an option that allows you to Protect/Unprotect the picture. Since your picture is currently protected, deselect that option. You should then be able to delete the picture normally.

Alternatively, you could also format the memory card, however this deletes ALL photos and data you have on the memory card. If you are trying to completely clear the memory, this is the best way. After turning on your camera, simply press the Menu button, scroll to Setup, then scroll down to Format. Select Format, it will ask you if you want to format the memory card, or the camera's built-in memory. Format whichever one you want to clear, if you are using a memory card then your pictures are stored on the memory card. It will take a few seconds to format.

Hope this helps.

My camera keeps telling me the internal memory is full. How to correct so that I can continue taking photos

that is because all the photos that you click is directly to phone memory, first change the default storage to memory card(you must have recevied a memory card or mmc), then transfer the photos from phone memory to memory card.
check your phone manual else just to the menu and check the storage option

When I turn my camera on now it says "no image",A child pushed every button on every menu item I think. Before this happened I had taken about 60 pictures and most of them had the protection lock...

I had success with this:
1. Remove the memory card and then connect the memory card to computer with a card reader, or insert the memory card to card slot if there's any on computer.
2. Download asoftech photo recovery program from
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/
3. In asoftech photo recovery program, scan the memory card and recover your photos.

Internal memory is full ..help

OK, so your internal memory is full... the solution to this depends on why you were not expecting this to happen.

Background: this kind of camera contains a small amount of memory as part of the camera, but to take any serious number of photos you have to add a memory card. Generally, when you insert a memory card, the camera will use it instead, and the internal memory will become 'hidden'. You can only access the internal memory using a USB cable. Most people never use it. There may be a setting in your menu that forces the camera to use internal memory even if a card is present. (Comment back if you need help finding it.)

If you have no memory card, get the photos off your camera and delete them, buy a memory card, and then start taking photos with the memory card in.

If you thought you were using a memory card, either it's faulty or the wrong type, or the menu setting is telling the camera to ignore it.

Phone memory to memory card on LG ku990

- Go to the images folder
- Select one photo (any photo)
-Go to the menu you access after pressing the book liney looking button at the bottom of the screen located next to 'view'
- In that menu, select 'Mark/Unmark' and select all the photos you want to put onto memory card.
- In the same menu as 'Mark/Unmark' is another option 'Move' which you will select after the photo selection process
- In the 'move' menu, you have two options, move to 'handset' or 'external memory' You will choose 'External memory'
- You can tell what photos are on the memory card because at the bottom of the photo menu (where the photos are like thumbnail images) is the round information i button, and next to it will appear what looks like a memory card or something of the sort icon depending on what photo is selected.
- There is a folder in the 'My Stuff' menu labeled 'External Memory'. Check there to see what things are on your memory card.
- I believe this process is same goes for music files also

Card locked

There's a little yellow switch on the left side of your memory card labled "lock" with an arrow pointing down. Push it up. Note: If it doesn't work right away, try uploading all your photos to your computer and then dumping them off of the card.  Push the switch up again and it should start taking pictures again.

Memory Card locked

Locked should not keep you from getting the data of of it, so one option is to transfer the pictures from it to your own computer then reformat the card (use the camera menu to do this, not your PC).
Another is to mount the volume on your PC and change the permissions on that device, including all sub-folders, so that it is no longer protected/locked.
Good luck.
