Generator starts fine and runs fine for about a minute or so and then starts to die a couple times and then stops completely. Let it sit for a short time and same thing happens again. Took drain loose from carb and fuel flow seems to be OK. Loosened gas cap to make sure it wasn't a venting problem but that didn't help. Oil level is OK. Is there a way to bypass the low oil shutdown to see if it may be causing this?
Have Generator McCullough FG 6000 was running fine motor still running fine than NO power output, any suggestions ?? Can you get replacement parts and repair diagram off the interent ??
Found the problem to be in the low oil shutdown. Not sure if it is the electronic switch mounted on the outside of the engine or the sensor inside the engine. Have ordered parts but still waiting as they have been on back order for over a month.
What should i set the valves at for a Mcculloch 11HP FG6000 Portable generator
Had a similar problem with my 800E for the camper. The first thing I did was move the wife away from it. Little thing hates her. Haven't figured that one out yet. Now your big boy probably doesn't have the sort of choke my little guy does, but sure enough if I didn't have all the same running troubles as you. I just had to tweek the choke a bit and he runs like a little champ. Something to think about anyways.
