The DMD chip is out on the light engine. Mitsubishi gave me part number 27695010 as the replacement part and the service tech that had looked at the television verified that yes, this is the part I need to repair the television. Now I need step-by-step instructions on how to replace this chip. Thank you. Donna Morgan [email protected]

52 mitsubishi has small white dots of light that dont go away on most of the screen

Mitsubishi is replacing these DMD IC chips nationwide under an unannounced kind of recall for model #'s WD60C9, WD73733, WD57734, WDY657, WD73734, WD65735, WD60735, WD65C9, WD73840, WD65833, WD65733, WD73735, WD73833, WD57733, WD65734 and others. Call them @ 800-332-2119 and give them your model, serial # and date of purchase, tell them you have the white spots, they will set up a workorder with a local Mitsubishi servicer to come to your home and replace the DMD chip. Mitsubishi will supply the part (part # 276P595010) for free, but you must pay $200 in labor. BUT...if you ask for Shantell Hebert when you call Mitsubishi, and really push the issue, she will also pay half of the $200 labor fee, so you go from $400 to repair to only $100. Once that chip is replaced, the unit works great again!!

Mitsubishi tv has white vertical lines on screen after replacing part 1910-6103w

You either got a defective DMD chip or the problem moved to your light engine or main board as well. To find out if it is light engine side or main board side you will check like this.

Turn off TV. If the line go away when the picture goes out, then the problem is on your main board. If the lines stay for a second or 2 after the picture goes out, the either your engine is bad, or you received a defective DMD chip.

I have a bad DMD chip and need to replace either the chip or if unavailable because it's been discontinued, the entire engine. I just don't kow where to find them. I've tried ebay and craigs...

That is a replacement part that you should contact the manufacturer for.

Obtain a copy of the service manual and in it you will find the replacement part number of the DMD and how to purchase one. It is a very, application-specific component that you are likely to never find in any private seller listings.
A lot of DMD and optics engines were made and patented by Texas Instruments for many TV's.

White spots on screen Need DMD chip for Mitsubishi WD-C657 DLP

This is something of an urban myth....The "DMD chip" is actually the LCD display IC for the set; yes I have seen some listed on EBAY---still a myth----they are replaced (when a light engine is rebuilt in a space age lab or environment) under exacting conditions----if positioned a micron off in any direction picture will be tilted in some way---this is also not like changing spark plugs in a car, if you have a optical engine issue like spots etc, either get a rebuilt engine from Mitsubishi or buy a new set.

They usually require some parts for old engine (mounting brackets etc) be installed on new or rebuilt engine.

I did see the "chip" for another model listed on ebay today.(100.00 PLUS)

I understand the engine is expensive, I replaced a lot of them when the sets were in warranty---more Mitsubishi than any other brand with Samsung a distant second.

I am sure Mitsubishi does not offer the part for sale--they want to sell a tested rebuilt engine only.

I wish you luck but have little hope you will find a "part" other than the whole engine.

Bright white spots on mitsubishi wd-73833 I just replaced the lamp and now these bright white spots have started to appear!

This unit uses a DLP (digital light processor) chip and if this starts to fail then you will get spots appearing on the screen. The DLP chip will need to be replaced.

Actually you must replace the DLP chip that is buried deep in the works of the tv. Unfortunately this can run into a nice lump of change. Do what I did. Perhaps you've heard the old addage
