I have a Frigidaire electric strove Model # fefl77abh. About 2 weeks ago, while baking cookies, I saw a bright blue spark, and a single popping sound. It startled me. The oven still worked and I didn't smell smoke or anything. I had used my oven/broiler since then perfectly fine. Tonight I turned on my oven, preset it to 425 degrees waited, for it to preheat and it never did. I opened up the oven door, and the oven wasn't heated at all. I tested to see if the broiler worked, and it does not. The stove top works fine at this time. Can you tell me what's broke?

SOURCE: Oven does not heat. Broiler and stove work. NO gas smell.

could be the oven thermostat, get a plumber/heating engineer out, but make sure you can trust him, cause he could try and say u need a new cooker when it MIGHT only be a new oven thermostat.

SOURCE: Model GBS307PDQ5: Oven preheated to 425 degrees.

F3 usually means, that the oven temp. sensor is bad and one need to replace it.
The fact, that it's not heating tells me, the fuse in the back also needs to be replaced (requires pulling out).

SOURCE: Oven appears to start, takes forever to preheat,

This is what I would do: I would unplug the range and connect my test cord to your range cord. I use an ammeter along with my test cord to read the amp draw of the bake ignitor. If it cannot get above 3.5 amps I know the ignitor is bad or weak. Since the oven is working that means there is a good circuit. In order for the safety bi-metal to open the amp draw must reach 3.5 amps or better. So to me I am thinking bad ignitor. To get to it I remove the door oven racks and bottom, I then remove the flame spreader and unplug the quick connect to the ignitor. I remove the burner and ignitor and replace the ignitor on a work bench. I am too old to be bending over and trying to do any parts replacement inside an oven. LOL. I have a training film which shows how the silicone carbide ignitor works HERE. Post a model number and I may have a service manual, do not forget to rate the answer.

Frigidaire oven wont heat up but stovetop and digital all works

Hello angeleyez82 - The EOC (electronic oven control/control board) basically sends power to both the broil and bake elements. As long as the power supply to the range (240VAC) and wiring between the elements is correct, then typically only the element(s) or EOC could prevent the unit from heating. I hope this information helps to some degree.

Frigidaire model number FGF356MXAWR, Serial #VF34511587 oven

it is probably the bake ignitor needs replaced. the only way to check it is with an amp meter. however, this is a part that does fail alot, and you can buy one for pretty cheap. it is located mounted on the bake burner by 2 screws. and it only involves splicing 2 wires, (the wire nuts you need should come with the new ignitor)
