Ibm 8215-d1u network driver

You need to put in your model number and operating system on IBM's support page for download and drivers. Also download the Chipset and Network Drivers.

Did you install the driver you downloaded? Sometimes installing drivers is a two step process. For example sometimes once you download and click run it expands all the files into another folder. Then you'll have to go to the other folder and click setup.

Also some times you will have to click run on the downloaded file and again it expands the files into another folder, but when you look in the other folder there is no setup. In this case you will have to go into the device manager and click on the device that is missing the driver and select update driver and point it to the folder where the expanded files are.

Bought a used IBM ThinkCentre M52 8215-VAN S/N LK71288 for $5.00. Needed memory and hard drive. Installed memory. Don't have harness for hard drive. Not sure where to plug hard drive in. Has optical...

if you have any discs in the dvd remove them... it should boot to the hard drive when it doesn't find anything in the dvd. if you need to install an operating system put that disc in the dvd and boot from it. during the installation it will start to run off the hard drive. when you are done installing remove the installation disc.

When i turn my IBM THINKPAD R50e on it just beeps 3 times then turns off

Hi:
I checked on a beep code for your IBM laptop, and the only code listed with 3 beeps is:
One long, two short beeps System board failure; Video adapter problem; LCD assembly failure

None of these codes sound like an easy or quick fix for you.
If your code is not one long, and 2 short beeps, repost and update!

When i swithch on the monitor is blank and there are two short beeps. Also the numbers 1 2 and 3 are lit in the tower front

The two short beeps are probably a POST (Power On Self Test) code. These have been in use since the first PC was manufactured by IBM, and other manufacturers decided to let IBM's POST codes be the standard for PC clones for several years. AMI, a BIOS chip manufacturer later came up with their own. Since then other manufacturers have strayed form the IBM fold, also.

For more info, go to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power-on_self-test">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power-on_self-test</a>.

Your 2 beeps in IBM POST code mean: POST error, see code on screen (code 123 means "system board error"). Not a lot of help!

Your 2 beeps in AMI BIOS POST code means a Base Memory Parity Error (bad memory chip in lower 64k of RAM).

The 123 display on the tower may NOT be the IBM POST error code, but something else. As reets-tech implies, you probably will only be able to get a definitive interpretation from your computer's manufacturer or one of their authorized repair facilities (if any). Good luck!
