You probably have a different voltage than the US. Now the control board is shot, and needs to be replaced. Kitchenaid does not recommend a step-down transformer due to the difference in freqeuncy (50 vs 60Hz).

It wont start

Check the carbon brushes under those black screw caps on the side. If not that then look for broken wire under back cover.

Kitchenaid KSM150PSOB speed switch will spring back to 3rd speed setting when trying to turn off. Noticed when its off and a little downward pressure is applied to the switch, it'll spring. Attempted to...

It probably is the worm gear but you must remove the planetary roll pin to be able to split the gearcase. You will find another smaller roll pin in the worm gear. Your speed lever problem will be either a loose screw that it pivots on or the lever is bent. Hammer and correct size punch is only solution for those roll pins. Bigger hammer sometimes helps.

I just got a kitchAid standmixer today and I'm sooo happy, but when I turned it on i noticed a little spark going out from where i should change the speed ,, is that normal or do I have to return i

You are probably seeing some dust or the brushes wearing in, unless you smell something burning, its may be just breaking issues. Any electric motor will have small sparks at the brushes. Are they sort of behind the round brush replacement screws?

I have a vintage hobart kitchenaid k4-b mixer and the problem is with the speed level lever when you operate it sometimes it will turn off the mixer and you have to push it back to off and re select each...

Hello Mark,

The problem is at the back of the unit. The speed control (black thing that all of the wires attached) is not functioning properly it has to sets of contactors. You will have to take the back of and play with the contactors. Unplug the unit and adjust the contactors then plug in and try it. You may also want to purchase a new speed control.

The part costs 27.95, part # 1394070 and is located at http://www.repairclinic.com/Kitchenaid-Switch-Parts?z=100&gclid=CKSD5NriuKcCFUVqKgodIE2b_g

I used to live in america and i moved to australia, mcan i use my mixer? it says 110 volt

Maiins Voltage in Aus is nominally 240 Volts, so plugging in directly with an adaptor will fuse motor. The only way to use the Miixer is to purchase a step down transformer (ie 240 V to 110 V) with a minimum rating at least equal to the power of the mixer which is 250 Watts. You should be able to purchase the transformer online or through Jaycar Electronics (branches in most major cities) . They are not that cheap but would be less than getting a new mixer rated at the correct voltage and it would also let you power other 110 V items that you have provided you don't exceed the transformer rating.

KitchenAid 300 Watts KSM90 Ultra Power sparking

Sparking is a safety concern and Kitchenaid will see it as such. I would suggest calling Kitchenaid Customer Service. They are likely to exchange the product, regardless of warranty or age, because of the potential safety concern.

Their toll-free telephone number is 1-800-541-6390.
