I plugged my iphone in as usual to charge when i went to bed & woke up to only 10% charge. Tried all the online advice but nothing worked & now the battery's completley dead. The warranty's expired so can't get it fixed from that. Any ideas would be very grateful!!!!
Have you tried a different charger? Maybe the charger is the problem.

If you are comfortable with opening devices you can take a multimeter to the battery. If the phone doesn't turn on if you battery has 3.7V or more you have a logic board issue. Oh, did you do a hard reset yet? Press menu and sleep/wake button together for 5 sec. If after all revival attempts you still don't get it to turn on It's usually an issue with the logic board, so ultimately if you want to resolve it, the logic board needs to be replaced. There are iPhone Repair guides that show you how.

A lot of these phones get stuck. Reset by using the home and on off buttons. Hold home and on off for 30 seconds then let go of home while connected to computer. Leave connected to computer and restart computer. Leave connected to computer for awhile. Mine came back after about six hours. I think it has something with the RAM and the motherboard powering down. If that doesn't work try putting phone in restore mode and restore.

Have you guys tried a forced restart?? if not try it, its very simple.
press and hold both your home and sleep mode buttons togeather until the phone starts.. let me know if it works.
