Hello, I hear this constant high pitched noise, almost like ringing, but even ... pitch

If you unplugged it then the noise can't be coming from the range.

If possible, plug the speakers into a portable device such as a cell phone, portable cd player or a tv that is equipped with a headphone jack (if speakers have the jack). If not, if the speakers have the red and white, ref and black or black and white male end connectors, plug them into a tv or dvd\blue ray player. If you get sound they are good, and you need to adjust your sound options on your computer. Let me know if this helps\works. Also, not all speakers are compatible with all computers and must have the same sound level equivalence to the device they are being used with. i.e. Ohms etc.

You either have a cold solder joint in your horizontal deflection circuits or your or in your horizontal output circuit. please be careful due to the fly-back transformer still holds power even unplugged until you discharge it.( ground it out). Hope this helps.

I'd guess that the high voltage is sparking inside the TV. It will eventually cut out completely.

Replacing a flyback is not something I would suggest for anyone with no electronics experience. Second, lets see where the noise is coming from first. Take off the back and listen to the noise. The flyback will be at one end of the large red wires that go to the tubes. Sometimes the connection at the tube is not 100% and the noise comes from there. BE CAREFUL - there are high voltages going through this red wire that can be dangerous even with the set UNPLUGGED!! IF the noise is coming from the connection at the tube, with the set unplugged, carefully turn the rubber cap back and forth touching only the rubber part with one hand. Put the other hand in you pocket while doing this.

If the noise comes from the flyback side, if you can solder, again with the set unplugged, try resoldering the pins on the transformers. That may resolve the problem.

when your tv starts making this kind of noises is ussually related to high voltage or a degraded component,If you are familiar with tv service you can remove the back and take a look just to check if you can see what is making the sound,sometimes you can see it if it is a degraded component cooking but if it is a heavy leakage of high voltage you will not see it and it can be dangerous to be even close to it,If you decide to go in to check you need to be very carefull ,I would suggest you call for assistance from a servicer if you are not too familiar with tv service.
