What happens is that when I try to start a cycle the on/off light starts to flash along with the mini load light and the rinse hold light. The machine will not stop draining water hereby water is also coming in non stop. I have cleaned out the filter and checked all the hoses for blockages. Please can you try and help me with this as I hardly have any clothes left lol.

Had similar prob with wf430, 3rd & 4th light flashing (rinse hold and time saver). read previous entries, checked for blocked pipes at back but all clear. Took out some of my washing and tried again with a lighter load and it seems to be working now. Not sure if perhaps we overloaded it, despite its 6kg washing capacity boast. Hope this helps

hotpoint Wd440. I had the same problem, lights flashing and water not draining, First drain your water (syphoning works but tastes ****), if the machine drains then you know its not blocked. Then put the machine on M for about 5 mins, then put it on fast spin. This should do the trick, it worked for me anyway. Good luck.
SOURCE: Started having a noisy rinse & spin cycle, then stopped.
Open the washer door and spin the drum by hand, if it feels rough or noisy and rumbling, then the main drum bearings have failed. There should be little or no noise when you spin drum
This is a major repair, and I would not recommend a D.I.Y solution.
Other possibility is there is something in the pump, but you would only hear this when the pump is working.

Had exactly the same last week - Jan 09 - and had to call out Hotpoint engineer - £99.98 all inclusive of parts - it was the main controller board, so thats under guarantee for another 12 months. all working and spinning as should be and only took around 30mins.GS :)
