I have the same system. all you have to do is when you connect your xbox 360, press the surround button on the remote and then use the arrow buttons to change it to dolby music pro2 or multi channel audio. same goes with any device you connect. hope it helps. In my case the xbox is connected to the Tv via HDMI and bluray player is connected to xbox via compoent cable

I just bought a Blue Ray player but my surround sound has a dvd player built in and only one input which I have my new Sharp TV plugged into. How can I hook up my Blue Ray . I have the HDMI cables

Depending on if your surround system has a hdmi input or not. if it does you can connect the blu-ray player to it. If it doesn't have an hdmi input you will have to run the hdmi cable from the blu-ray to the tv then run a set of rca cables (red and white plugs) from the tv audio out to the surround systems' audio input jacks to get sound through the surround system. Most surround systems don't have an auxiliary input for another video device.

try setting your av signal selector to auto. if that daes not work go to your av set click on digital input setuo an make sure you have got one of your coaxial slots asigned to dvr1. you will get better sound by using a coaxial or optical hookup compared to hdmi. i've tryed both. hope this helps you , if it don't email me back at [email protected]. i also has a ppioneer av reciever, so i've been through the same trile and errors

Sound Problems with HD TV

This seems to be a problem that has to do with your HDMI audio output.
First check in your TV setting if audio out is selected on your correct HDMI port. Than check if your receiver is able to receive audio via HDMI (i assume you used the HDMI connection). Some receivers have HDMI IN connections but are not able to receive audio on it, the latest receivers/sets do have this feature. If your receiver doesnot support audio IN via HDMI you can only do one thing, connect the stereo audio-out of your TV to an AUX IN connection on your receiver.

I have a Yamaha Rx-v363 receiver using HDMI jacks but I am not getting any sound through my surround sound only my tv speakers. I have a digital audio optical cable running from the receiver to the blue...

this sounds strange, but is true. you need to run your digital audio optical cable from your tv to your receiver (after, of course, connecting tv/receiver via hdmi). so, hdmi from blue ray to rec - hdmi from rec to tv - then optical from tv back to rec. it's round about, but that is how yamaha says (and the only way it works) to do it.
