When turning on the television I get the SONY logo for about 5 seconds then it fades away and I have nothing. No picture, no sound, yet the green light remains lit. Mr.bkphillip635 had the same problem a couple of months ago, it was answered, now the answer is hidden for some unknown reason!

Most of the time however, it is simply cheaper and easier to replace the television. At today's price point, they are practically disposable.

A 6 flash error indicates a problem with the backlight. Your set is less than a year old and still in warranty, so you should contact Sony and arrange for a service call to get it repaired.

You have a bad lamp. That's how a lot of sony dlp's will do when the lamp is about shot. I've replaced many of them at our shop for the same problem. You'll probably get the best deal on one at ebay. They are very simple to change, especially if you buy one already in the housing. Just type in your model number and the word "lamp" in the ebay search bar, and they will come up.

it sounds like your back light might be going out. You might be able to fix this by installing a new backlight inverter board.
