All I get is a blue welcome screen on my Mitsu WD-65C9 DLP TV. After several seconds of blue screen, it always just shuts down. I downloaded the Mitsubishi software upgrade, but it did NOT solve anything. Thanks

Hi Mike,

May I know if the LED light at the front panel has a pattern of flashes or flashing continuously in green color.

Please check if you can access the "Self diagnostic screen" by following the steps below.
- To activate, press the front panel "Activity" and "Channel down" buttons at the same time and hold for 5 secs. The Status led will then flash a two digit code. Example, if the error code is "23" the led light flashes 2 times(blink, blink) pause and then flash 3 times(blink, blink, blink). Let me know the error code, it will help to diagnose where the fault came from.
Note : the TV must be in shutdown not switched off, or AC power cord is removed because the code will reset to "12" means no error. Use the front panel buttons not on the remote control. If you can't access the self diagnostic, press and hold the "Activity" button on the front panel for 5 secs before entering the "self diagnostic" code.

Kind Regards,

Mjsazon

The only code I could get was 12. When trying to turn on TV, the green LED flashes rapidly for the entire process, until everything shuts down, over and over, same thing. When I read the direction for the software upgrade, it says do NOT turn TV off while it trying to download........but the TV turns itself off!!!!

Reset the unit by unplugging from the outlet for at least 15 minutes.

Plug it back in and then press and hold the power button key at the front panel for 8 secs and then check if the symptoms still persist. If so, check again the self diagnostic error code. Please note that "12" means that the unit didn't detect any error.

Let me know also if the led light flashes continually green.

Unplugged TV for several minutes. Pressed and held "on" button for 10+ seconds. Released button, green LED flashes rapidly, while blue screen is lighting up. Screen gets fairly bright.....and then everything shuts down (for the huindredth time!!) An immediate 'error code' check gave "flash....pause.....flash flash" (12).

No, I'm not satisfied! This person did little to assist me in diagnosing why my TV won't turn on. The "Service Manual" is claimed to have a "troubleshooting section. No, it doesn't. All in all, this process has not been helpful at all.

My WD-65c9 boots to welcome screen then shuts down with a flashing red LED.

42 is an error code for faulty "Lamp Sirocco Fan" part no. 299P321010. You have to replaced it with new one. I've saw it at shopjimmy.com ( http://www.shopjimmy.com/mitsubishi-299p321010-fan.htm )

Mitsubishi 73" DLP powers on, through welcome

If you are getting at turn on source and back ground is all blue the set will shut down rather quickly;

I have a suggestion, if it works fine, and if not it will not hurt anything.

with original Mitsubishi remote turn set on and then Menu, 1,2,3, enter.

This is the soft reset that most of these sets have (cannot be sure since Model number above is correct?)

The reset button on the front (if it has it) just shuts the set down and reboots the DM unit inside.

Most of these sets when it is pressed the green light will blink for about 70 seconds and go out; that is the DM unit rebooting and the soft restart is something else.

Let me know what you find before you rate this information.

Hello,
There is a software update that is available for some Mitsubishi dlp models. The wd-65c9 is one of them. When I experienced your problem, I went to the website, downloaded the update, and installed it on my tv and boom, its fixed. It's super easy, free, and takes a few minutes.
