  1. Open Disk Cleanup by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Disk Cleanup, and then, in the list of results, click Disk Cleanup.

  2. In the Drives list, click the hard disk drive that you want to clean up, and then click OK.

  3. In the Disk Cleanup dialog box, on the Disk Cleanup tab, select the check boxes for the file types that you want to delete, and then clickOK.

I have a 20 gb ssd and the computer will use only 4 gb.

You may find these comments interesting.

Pros: Great weight and shape. Boots up surprisingly fast.
Cons: The 12GB 901 has two 4GB and 8GB hard drives. The XP operating system is installed on the 4GB drive. As a result, as soon as Windows updates, the C: drive fills up and you get low space warnings for the C: drive, and the drive becomes sluggish.

This computer was the perfect size and weight for me. But I have reluctantly decided to return this to Costco becuase of the small 4GB C: drive filling up when windows is updated. I recommend that the operating system be put on the 8GB drive, or better yet, install a single 12GB drive.

You may be a victim of spyware/maleware infections. You will need to have your system cleaned. This should help resolve your issue.

I would recommend trying CCleaner first to see if this helps you. Please keep in mind this will not rid your system of everything just keep you a float and offer you a fighting chance.

Please keep me posted and updated on your issue. I am here for you and will see your issues out till resolved.

Have a great and wonderful day :)

Why does my laptop show low disc space?

Hello

The low disc space message refers to the amount of free disc space on your c drive. The c drive is the drive on which your windows is installed, thus yu need to delete some games or not neccesary files to free up some space on your drive. Hope this can help you.

Kind regards

HI, I HAVE AN Eeepc 901 and my caps lock goes CRAZY. ALTERNATE ON AND OFF WITHOUT ANY PUSH IT. I INSTALED AGAIN WINDOWS BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST

sounds like component board/switch failure .If your eeepc is less that 2 years old Asus will collect and repair it for you free of charge.
Also could be "pirate" or non genuine software--its a possibility

I would guarantee 98% that its your harddrive. I had a similar problem w/ one of my older computers. I installed a new harddrive and that fixed the problem.. Stay away from seagate hds, they are junk.

Duplicator freezes at 88%, or 98% when burnign and so discs are incomplete

check the amount of free space you have on your computer,if it too low this might be the cause of the problem, plus you might want to run defrag command
