Front load door is locked just. We have tried running a few cycles to see if it will fix it self. Still remains locked with a load of washing stuck inside.
The door will not open if the machine detects excess water in it. Run the drain or spin cycle to check if water is being expelled. If necessary check the pump filter for obstructions and the outlet hose for blockages. If this does not work you may have a problem with the pressure system, the door lock itself or a crack or break in the handle and it is not catching the lock mechanism, let me know if this helps or if you need further assistance.
Hi Roni I have identified the problem as a break in the handle not catching the lock mechanism. Any recommendations on how to fix this? Will I need to get a whole new door or is it possible to just replace the handle?
Thanks for your help
Rob
Can you supply me with the enr number (assuming the door is open now) from the inner door plate and I will look up the part numbers, cost and where you can get them. Cheers
Hi Roni that would be great! part number is Nr WFL2080AU/4FD8204900129. Cheers
The part you will need is 484403, I'm in the UK, so if you want to buy it in AU you will have to troll the internet or ring any of your local spares places. There is a UK site that can supply you the spare and I have added to the linkhttp://www.espares.co.uk/basket.aspx?k=4...
The part is a little fiddly to fit, remove the whole door by taking out the two T20x screw in the hinge (lift the hinge a couple of mm and it will come off), lie door flat, remove all the screws on the inner door and remove the inner ring. Remove the broken handle, The new handle should come with a metal rod each end which sit in a groove on the outer door and the lug in the middle of the handle sits over the catch, (I've assumed the catch is ok part is 173251) before putting it all back together, make sure that the latch moves when you move the handle. Good luck, sorry I couldn't be of more assistance in sourcing the part. If you ring BSH AU Tel. +61 (03) 8551-1100 (Bosch service Au) they should be able to help you with spares.
All the Best Roni
Forgot to add....my washing machine is a lifeline to me, I have four kids and even a day without would be a complete nightmare...it may be a couple of days for you to trace and get the part..(I'm shuddering as I type, couple of days with no W/M...Argh!!) You can still use the machine..... remove the broken handle ( keep it safe, you may need the little rods either end, if they are not supplied with a new one). The door will still close and lock and a teaspoon handle or small screwdriver can be used at the end of cycle to coax the catch and open the door.....Please keep me informed of the progress, as all posts can be viewed by others and may be of use to them. All the best, Roni

Thanks Roni your a legend! I will keep you posted on my progress. Yes I have been using a bread knife to unlock the latch for the last couple days.
Hi Roni
Sorry for the late update. Took a good month to find the part. I used a business in Sydney called "Matic Service". The part cost $40 for the plastic handle. Real easy to fit together. Took about half an hour with the guidence of your Excellent instructions;-) Thanks mate
