The brightness is adjustable from the video card settings .. go to the control panel and open the video card settings .. depending on the card you will have general video settings for windows or personalized for the card (ex. nvidia settings or whatever you use..) Also settings may be present in the tray system on the task bar .. if the card is proper installed.. Just click right on the graphic card in the right tray on the task bar .. and choose graphic options .. and in there color management or graphic properties..and adjust the settings and apply and OK .. to exit..
For most windows settings are also available if you right click on the desktop and choose graphic options . in the list ..

How do I turn down brightness on my hp Windows 7 computer?

Hi,

Below are instructions to adjust brightness on HP laptop

    • Press the "Fn" key with the computer turned on and hold the key.

    • Press the "F7" or "F8" key on some HP laptops, which are printed with a small sun icon on the key. The sun icon is filled on the function key for dimming the laptop. The other key is printed with a hollow sun icon for brightening the screen.

    • Press the "Fn" and left arrow keys together on some HP laptops to turn down the brightness. The "Fn" and right arrow key will increase brightness. Press and release the right arrow key repeatedly, while holding down "Fn," to decrease the screen brightness slowly, or hold the keys to darken the screen as low as the setting will go.

  1. For HP Monitors

    • Press and hold the down arrow key on the front panel of the monitor below the screen to turn down the brightness on the external monitor to the lowest setting.

    • Repeatedly press the down arrow button to dim the monitor gradually.

    • Press the up arrow key on the monitor to increase brightness.

Screen is too bright. How do we turn down the brightness?

There should be a menu button on the monitor it self, which will give a list of options, one of which should be brightness.

Also, windows 7 has a built in brightness setting -- search for calibrate display color

Brightness automatically going low when the brightness is at 100

hello, please make sure the magicbrite option is not set to "dynamic contrast" as this will change the contrast levels by itself, change the settings by pressing the down arrow touch key on the monitor, change it to any other setting, game mode is blinding on my one (when the monitor works, but thats another story!!!) good luck with samsung customer care centre 0870SAMSUNG (uk)

Screen is on, but does not appear to be on

The monitor was broken. I returned it to the vendor for replacement. Your tech did not seem to feel it was a monitor problem and only focused on the video card - although I asked him directly regarding his confidence of it being a videio card problem versus being a monitor problem.

I will not use your service again.

Monitor black screen

Your first step in troubleshooting this problem is to plug in another monitor to your computer. If you are having the same problem it is related to your computer. If the second monitor works fine then your original monitor is shot.
