Dear Sir:
I just want to say to L5 means many things.
1)You must check socket wiring from upper board(display) vs lower board(controller motor board)
2)Short circuit in capacitor(EMI) in input circuit or Short circuit in Main Motor Test.
3)Faulty Controller Motor Board-Replace.
4)Realign Sensor Speed Motor and clean or Replace
Since the Controller Motor Board control 90% function in Treadmill , will the most probably cause, after you did Test all Step before mentioned. And strong concluded the Lower Board is Faulty.
sincerely.

If you need further assistance, please reach me.

What does code L5 mean on treadmill,no movement on the treadmill

Hello, Lynette -

Is the error code really L5, or could it be LS?

Also, it would help to know the make and model of your treadmill. You can add that information after choosing Comment, here, and typing it in.

In the meantime, read the information here:

Best wishes.

What is l5 error

Probable Cause A LS error on the Landice L-Series treadmills can also look like L5 and this error code means there is a loss of speed signal. If this error occurs with no belt movement, the causes for the LS or L5 error are:

A) Faulty upper display board or faulty relay board
B) Improper speed control wiring
C) Improper motor control wiring
D) Worn or faulty motor brushes
E) Faulty pwm/relay combo board or faulty drive motor

A) Speed sensor is out of adjustment
B) Speed sensor is damaged or faulty

Error E5 or L5???

L5 means it cannot sense the lid open or closed.
Lid switch is likely bad.

I have an L5 error on the display. Belt not working. What do i do?

This is a LS or speed sensor error, it can be caused by a belt that is too tight, non lubricated walking belt and or a bad sensor. If the belt does not move at all, Bowflex will tell you to buy a new lower control board. $227 direct from them (Nautilus)
