SOURCE: quark 6.5 error code 10660

Just open the file once and save it and it should work.

You can also try adding a .qxp extension to it and then try opening the file

SOURCE: When I click file export as pdf, is there any way

YES.
I don't have it open in front of me, but you should be able to go to "Edit" and "Output Settings" From here you can create any kind of setting for printing or creating PDFs that you need.
I have quite a few of these set up on my computer at work.

How would I fix corrupted word doc? I can't open my word doc. This appear ''The file (My doc name) cannot be open because there are problems with the contents'' how i can i overcome this problem?

Hi,

You can attempt a repair by opening Word, File>Open Select the document and then where it says "Open", click on the little arro next to it and choose "Open and Repair". If this does not work then it is corrupted beyond repair.

Hope that helps, pls rate the solution

I downloaded a file to my desktop from my server using Fetch last week. It's a Quark file and it opened just fine. Trashed it since I didn't need it. Now client wants to make changes so I downloaded the...

The file extension for your quark file is not being recognized as belonging to any any application installed on your computer or the file extension was lost when you transferred the file (in which case, you can rename the file and put the file extension back on, e.g. change MyFile to MyFile.qxp).

I'm assuming that you still have Quark installed on the computer you are trying to open the file on. If not, you should install it, which will resolve the problem.

You can try repairing an existing installation: Look in your control panel for programs installed on your computer. Click on the Quark installation to see if a change or repair option is shown for it. If so, attempt a repair, which may solve the problem.

Cannot open a file from docx documents

Hello there!

Well that problem can be caused only if you are using older version of microsoft office 2007. If you have MS2003 package, and trying to open docx file extensions that will not work, but you are able to use docx extensions with MSoffice2007 package. In your question you put that you already use MS office 2007 package,so i suggest your docx extension is somehow corrupted.

If you had downloaded it from the internet please redownload it again.

If that was your work try to save it in doc format 1st then in docx if you want to enable only msoffice2007 users to use it. Good luck ! =)

Please rate my solutions! =)

Sincerely

After using my quarkxpress 7.1 everyday for 5 years, this morning it won't launch. I just get the logo screen with whirling color disk. Can you help me resolve this?

It sounds like your preferences file has corrupted.

This solution is for Quark on a Mac. What you could do is go to users then which ever user is the active one then library then preferences then quark then QuarkXPress 7.0 in this folder is a file called "XPress Preferences.prf" move it to the trash and then start up Quark, it should rebuild the file. (Do not empty the trash if it does not work you can replace the file back into the preference folder)

Please note your preferences will be back to default and you will need to reset them.

Hope this helps.

Help!...While 'collecting for output' an error -43(file not found). All images are OK. Not sure what to do...

Check under Usage and check that all the images are valid and updated. If these are correct, check whether the images are quark EPS files, if they are place the files in illustrator or photoshop (DO NOT OPEN THEM) and then save them in the appropriate format. Before you do this ensure that you have copies of these files .

Hope this helps.

I want to edit images in photoshop that are in a Quark file. When I double click the file opens in Preview instead, how do I resolve this file association issue?

Right click on file, choose Open with option, click on Choose program, and you can select from there Photoshop. If you want to open always with Photoshop, check option "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file". Clik OK, and..... that's it.

Quark picture files

Since you're copying your Quark file to an external HD, I assume that you're also copying the image files? What you should do before copying to the external HD to work on the file at home is under the File Menu, use the 'Collect for Output' feature, which may take a while depending on the size of your file, number of images, etc., but then you can use the Quark file from the xternal hd, and back and forth to your computer without having to relink the picture files all the time.
