Sounds like a bad power supply board. There is a repair service which addresses any problem with the power supply board, not just bad capacitors: http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/p/777/starmen-tom202cabb-power-supply-board-repair-service-no-power-shutdown-etc

This is a known issue with this model. The problem is a failure of the power supply board, it is a model TOM202CABB. Here is a link to a repair guide that will show you the parts that needs to be replaced to rebuild the power supply board. The guide references the Emprex model but the power board is the same. The repair takes about 20 minutes and you will need to do a little soldering but anyone can do it.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

SOURCE: sound lost on digital lifestyles tv

Try unplugging it for a few and starting over, check your connections. If that does not help it is probably broken. This brings you to the bigger problem, It is no mystery why all of these new "no name" TV manufactures are so much cheaper than 1st tier products. Some of it is quality, but the biggest reason you spent a few to maybe several hundred less than the Sony, Toshiba, Samsung, Mitsubishi, etc. is after the purchase support. If your TV is broken chances are it is not getting fixed. There is no such thing as Digital Lifestyle replacement parts, service centers, service manuals, etc. If a company can build a TV then wash their hands of it they can sell it much cheaper. Name brand manufactures produce original replacement parts for years, they set up authorized service centers all over the country and they publish service info for their servicers. You might take it in somewhere for a look, sometimes it is something simple or basic electronic circuit failures that can be repaired with common generic components, but if you need something specific, it won't happen. You say it is "new" if it turns out broken and you can return it, do it, go smaller with a name brand or spend the extra few hundred bucks. Don't get me wrong name brands break too, the difference is they are repaired and you move on rather than throwing it away and buying again. People are discovering there is nothing more expensive than a cheap TV. Good Luck

Green Power light always on..when on control pushed light used to get very bright and tv came on. Now standby on, but when on/off pushed, nothing happens

Try unplugging the TV and leaving it unplugged for about 2-3 minutes. Plug the TV back in and make sure the StandBy light turns on. Try clicking the power button and see if the TV powers up. While you are at it, be sure to replace the batteries in your TV remote (if you are using one)... this could be why you cannot power the TV on.

Why wont my lg 50 plasma tv turn

Perhaps replace your power cord. Borrow power cord from repair shop. If it works it's the cord. Also if the TV is plugged into power bar make sure the power bar hasn't been inadvertently turned off.

CHERYL42 inch digital lifestyles tv " FA2B-42570. THE TV WILL NOT TURN ON., what do i do?

if your FA2B-42570 does not power on that could be because of one out of two reasons: bad power board or bad main board.

Here is a link which will help you isolate the first case by basically telling you how to command the power board manually and checking if it produces what it needs to produce:

http://blog.coppelltvrepair.com/2012/10/testing-tom277cabb-for-digital.html

if it does, then the only other possibility left is the main board.

Also note that this TV is known to have inverters that fail over time, i.e. the TV actually works, but you can't see image on the screen because the light source behind the color filters that the LCD is made of is simply missing.

Sound works but no picture. black screen

If you get some pictures the problem is most likely a bad tuner, as when directly connected a video source to the RF (Cable Coax) connector.
Try using an s-video cord instead.
If you never get any picturethe problem is related to the power supply, more precisely, the SMPS output is just a bit high causing the microprocessor to go into protection mode cutting off the horizontal oscillation, but as sound has a different power source from the SMPS, it will work without any problem. You will have to get to a qualified sercive engineer to fix this problem.
