Hello! About 2 weeks ago, the same problem began on my Hamilton Beach water dispenser.
Last week, I called the HB service support, and they told me to do the following reset procedure:

1. Dispense 3 cups from the HOT water side, and also, 3 cups from the COLD water side.
2. Turn BOTH back switches OFF (the ones on the back of the water dispenser).
3. Unplug the dispenser, and LEAVE it unplugged for 24 hours.
4. After 24 hours, turn the back switches ON and plug it in.
5. Leave it on for 4 hours WITHOUT dispensing any water.

...it's been about 12 hours since I've dispensed water again for the first time, and so far, SO GOOD! I'll update if the problems reappear.

Hello mmmm,
Welcome,
how old is the unit?
And what did it cost you?

It has a bad thermostat.
Try unplugging it for 5 minutes and see if it resets.
If it runs continuously the compressor will soon burn out and die!
If not do not spend more than half of what it cost to repair it!
This is the rule of thumb.

You said ,The water cooler wont stop chilling the cold water. Normally, it would shut off once the chilled water has reaches a certain temperature, but now it runs continuously. any ideas how to fix??

Thank You for using our site for advice,

For the guest that posted that they had the cooler for less than a year.
If you bought it new, then you should have a 1 year warranty.
Call the number in the user manual or in the papers that came with the cooler and they should rectify your problem or replace the unit!
If it was from Home depot or any large box store they will let you return it or exchange it with a receipt!
Thank you for using our site.

    Another guest

Said,my cooler doesn't get cold, what I mean is the water isn't as cold many
other coolers it's just above tap water. I looked for adjustment screw
    or switch with no luck.

It sounds like a bad thermostat or low freon.
    If it's new return it.
If you plan on fixing it.
Do not spend more than half the cost of the cooler!

Let me know what you do!
Thank you for using our site.

Our Hamilton beach water cooler makes a constant noise as it cools the water. The cooler does not shut off once the water is cold. Series #A0370CT.

When empty of water remove the back panel and the cooling fins are most likely covered with an inch of dirt! Find an air compressor and blow out the dirt. It worked on mine!

Hamilton Beach 87330 hot water problem.

The two round "devices" on the tank are the operational thermostat, and the "safety" overtemp thermostat. It is usually the "operational" thermostat that fails, since it has to cycle a lot and arc internally. It is usually about 120-140 degrees F., and the safety thermostat significantly higher.

Hamilton Beach water cooler dysfunction.

Check to see if the dispenser has an integral water filter. If yes, replace it to improve the taste of the water. If no, then unplug and remove the top panel and shut off the water supply line to the unit.

You'll want to drain the cooling tank and clean it with some white vinegar to remove any mineral deposits that could be affecting the taste of the water. You'll want to lightly scrub the inside of the chilling/cooling tank with a mixture of at least 2/3 white vinegar and warm water to help dissolve any residue in the tank.

After you've gotten it as clean as possible, turn on the water supply line and flush the tank by filling a pitcher from the cold water dispenser. Do this for at least 2-3 gallons of water to completely clear out the vinegar mixture.

You'll also want to remove and sanitize the dispenser valves on the front of the unit, as there could be some gunk inside the spout that is adding to the foul taste and odor.

I would also suggest you install an inline charcoal water filter to the supply line serving this cooler, as that will only help improve the taste and clarity of your drinking water.

You should be able to adjust the temp of the cold water with a thermostat controler located inside the cabinent. You might want to contat Hamilton Beach to obtain an owner's manual for your unit to get more detailed information about use and operation recommendations.

Hope you found this info very helpful and best regards!

My hot water on model #87330 cooler has stopped working the switch is turned on in the back

Unfortunatly this is going to be a bad heating element or high limit thermostat, It's going to be cheaper to buy a new one or just make do with cold water. Sorry I can't be more helpfull but i worked on these things for a while and the company i worked for would rather buy new then put time effort and parts into a $100 water dispencer.

if I can be of any more assitance please feel free to comment again.

Cold Water not squirting out cold water

To resolve this problem, unplug the dispenser and let it sit for about 24 hours. I had this problem happen to me and I took the unit apart to find out the cause. I discovered that the the water cooling mechanism developed a big chunk of ice inside of it and it basically blocked the flow water. Allowing that ice to melt should resolve this problem. It did for us.

Hamilton Beach 87330 water dispenser: no auto shut off

Glen,
We purchaced this water dispencer about 2 years ago, everything was working normal, water heater works fine and the cooler would come on and go off normally, until you dispenced cold water and then the coller would cool down and shut of like it's supposed to.
Afetr a couple of years , one day it started cooling continuously and wouldn't stop, I've just shut the cooler switch off on the back of the unit until i can figure the problem out, unit #(87330).
I believe the problem is in the circuit control board, but with out further testing i can't be sure .
