Extra blue wire what is it for

48" light fixtures come in single lamp, two lamps, and four lamps. The ballast must match the supply voltage and the amount of lamps the fixture has.

Kill power to light and emergency single light does not turn on also with power on push test knob and emergency bulb not come on

Hello Ramon, Check the power back (battery cell) as without a functioning battery pack, the emerbency light won't function.

Typically the batery packs will need to be replaced periodically every 4-5 years, depending on the istallation location and ambient temperatures.

When you kill the power to the emergency lighting circuit the PSQ is switched to operate automatically on battery power only. The same thing occurs when you press the test button; it disconnects the lighting from the electric power that keeps the battery charged and ready for service. You might also want to check the bulbs with a test meter (remove the bulbs from the fixture and test with the Ohm setting) While rare that these bulbs burn out, since they aren't usually illuminated often, only during a power disruption/outage, etc.

Here's a link to the Lithonia site with the spec sheets for the PSQ series of emergency lighting products, for your use and reference.
