No water when hot selected.

It is most likely that it is failing due to old age and needs to be replaced.

ITS NOT SUPPOSE TO HEAT UP THE WATER COMES IN HOT FROM THE OUTLET? THE WATER TEMPERATURE SWITCH DETERMINES WEATHER IT USES HOT OF COLD ECT

If a washer unit is not advancing correctly to the next setting or cycle you could have a few issues. The main control board is not communicating correctly to the rest of the unit; the fill sensor and water valve sensor(s) are not operating properly; or the unit is not sensing enough water has been added to the unit. I would strongly suggest to contact a service professional to test all areas of the unit before repairing any further.

The drain hose needs to be higher than the top of the water level and yes, there needs to be an air gap so the drain does not siphon. As far as temperature, the machine will automatically put in cold or hot water depending on the temps selected. You cannot get straight hot water from this machine...that is by design. You will have to live with the temps you are given...I know, it sucks!

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. Just reading this it sounds like the water temp selector switch is acting up. You did not provide a model number so this is just an outright guess to help you. Try this if you have the button type start mashing the buttons several times between temps. Do it with conviction. Your cycling the switch to unstick or clean off the contacts in the switch. If the cycle temp switch fails while doing this; changing the switch was the next recomendation to correct the temp problem. You should cycle the switch at least 30 times methodically. Press, change temp, press repeatedly. Then check your cycle water temps for hot and cold as selected. Depending upon model you could have a problem with the water inlet valve. I will wait for a response before commenting on that.

Hi just read your posting.Now what water temp are you using for you wash cycle?Is it cold , warm or hot?Problem could be your cold water valve not opening enough or your motor controller.If you selected a COLD wash how fast does your cold water come in to the machine?Please reply with additional information on the questions and I can help you rectify this fault.Looking forward to your reply.

I would have thought it was the board too! does it beep when it stops? if it does then it should be putting up a fault code.top row of lights..CHeck that you have both the hot & cold hoses connected & turned on at the taps.even if you are not useing hot water to wash with,turn them both on anyway.Some machines require this regardless of wether you are useing hot.The reason for this is F&P have built into their machines to give a little squirt of hot water to maintain a certain level of cold wash.Make sure also that hot hose is going to hot valve & cold to cold.

Check the cold water solenoid. If a meter is not available you can swap the hot and cold wires and see if the symptom changes to hot water when cold is selected. If so the mixing valve needs replaced. If no then further testing of the wire harness and timer circuit are needed.

I have a Sears front load washer and I also noticed that on a cold wash/cold rinse cycle the machine was drawing hot water.

Laundry detergents require water to be at a certain temperature to aid in disolve. The machine adds sufficient hot water, regardless of the cycle, until that temp is reached. If I was to use a cold water detergent the machine, because it has no way of knowing which detergent I'm using, will still add hot water until that minimum temp is released. I don't know if there are machines available which include detergent type as an option?

Open and close the door.
The door has to be opened between wash cycles.
Check the door switch/lock unit
using the diagnostics listed below.
If door is locked, Drain the unit.
Check wire harness for connections.
Check the touchpad/LED assembly.
Starting the test mode:
Close the door
Press Control On button
Select the DRAIN/SPIN cycle
Select NO SPIN by pressing the SPIN SELECT button,as needed,
Push Prewash Option button 4 times within 5 secs.
C:00 will show in the display.
To advance to the next step
Push Prewash Option button 2 times.
