Closed captioning is in the main menu. Use channel up/down and volume up/down on tv to navigate and turn off.

I cannot find it on my main menu. When I navigate to audio, there is nothing about Closed Captioning. Is there a second page to the main menu? If so, how do I get there - there isn't any indicator on my TV.

Hitachi L40A105 closed caption

Do you have the captions set for Analog or Digital captions? The advanced setting is only available for digital captions. See https://www.manualslib.com/manual/520286/Hitachi-Alpha-L40a105.html?page=19#manual .

I hope this helps.

Need Closed Captioning

If you have the original remote control, there will be a button marked "CC", and pressing it once, the closed caption funciton will turn OFF, and for an other press, it will re-appear. Now, here you are using a universal remote control. So it will be difficult to make closed caption. Try to enter its function menu by using present remote control, where you can make this funicion OFF, if you could enter into it.

I am trying to turn on my closed captioning on my 19'' orion tv but dont see it... how do i turn it on

Usually you can turn on the closed captioning from the remote. There (should) be a button labeled "cc" that you just need to press once or twice until you get the closed captioning style you want. If your remote doesn't have this button, or if you don't have a remote, you could try two things. First, you could try (i'm not sure if this would work) going into the tv menu itself and searching for the closed captioning part, or you could just go out and buy a universal remote that has the "cc" key. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Der Strom

Cannot turn CC ON/OFF via remotes

Try this combination.

1) Start with the cable box turned on and TV on tuned to the cable box.

2) Press the POWER button for the cable box and then quickly press the MENU button.

3) This should bring up the user setting menu. Use the arrow keys on remote to go to Closed Caption and press right arrow button this should bring up the closed caption menu.

4) Press the OK button and this should either turn CC on or off.

5) Once Closed Caption is turned off press LEFT ARROW button to return to User Settings Menu.

6) Press the POWER button to turn the Cable box back on and the Closed Caption should be gone....

Good Luck.....

I do not know how to turn off the closed captioning on my son's orion tv set. I do not know the model type. I do know that closed captioning options are not on the menu.

If you have the original remote look for a button labeled "CC" or "Caption/Text" press this button till the screen says caption off.

Closed caption / universal remote

Couple things to try:

On the remote - Press "Clear" button
May have to turn off CC in the TV menus. Try Menu on the remote and look for closed caption there.
If remote doesn't work, can try with buttons on TV itself to get into menu and turn it off.

Here's a link to the manual for that remote:
