I don't know, but I need two - one for the blender and one for the processor.

It should release with a 1/8 twist in the counter-clockwise direction.

The motor shaft that spins the teeth that are on the base of the blender may be frozen up for some reason. If you purchased the duet within the last 3 years and have a receipt, call Cuisinart to get it repaired in warranty - even if you don't have a receipt, your serial number may still save you.
