go to start menu if you are using windows 7 type cmd u will find it ,if you are using xp ,go to start menu click on run then type cmd or command...a black window will show up .. type cd.. (cd dot dot) untill come on this ( c:\>) then type format (your hard disk's alphabet) like if it g then type format g: and press enter.

I have Transcend storejet 320 GB. When I want to open my files, it's prompting me to format before I can use it. When go for formating, it stucks saying that windows was unable to complete the format

Sound like your USB hdd going to fails. Common problem causing this issue is not enough power for external HDDs. If you already attached one USB cable then you should try to use 'Y' USB cable, to give the device more power.

My mac is reading my transcend storejet 25 mobile 320gb, but i cant copy files from my mac unto it

Hello Kinoshia,

It seems that Transcend external hard drive have different file system. This is because the Mac machine is not able to transfer the files on to external hard drive. Please format the Transcend external hard drive from Mac machine and then hard drive is ready to accept the data from Mac machine. The drive either has to be formatted for Mac( HFS & HFS+) or FAT32 partitions. If you want to use
Transcend external hard drive for both Windows and Macs than format the drive to be FAT32.

Hai i have transcand stor get 320GB hard disk. my propblem my computer detect the hard disk but when i try to open that it asks "do you want format it?" what shoud i do?.

If the computer is prompting that the drive needs to be formatted, this means either the drive has become currupt (not likely) or that the drive hasn't been formatted or is an unrecognised format

if the hard drive was formatted on a Mac or Linux machine without choose Fat32 format, the drive will be prompted to be formatted under a windows machine

if there is no information on that drive, i'd suggest just formatting it

remember formatting a hard drive removes all information off that hard drive.

How to remove write protection my transcend storejet 320gb. Now I'm just using 32Gb of space and that's it, I can't copy anything. But property shows me 278Gb of free space. HDD- WD3200BEVT-00A1TT0...

try right clicking and going to the properties and and reset the permissions of the drive. some times the user account will be write protected and the default hidden admin account will have full access.

My Transcend Elite Storejet 320GB fell 3 feet down the floor and also I didnt use safely remove when taking it off from the PC. Since then my HD always ask to format though I have done formatting it...

You dropped it on the floor and you removed it from a PC without using the (safely remove) option??? you might as well stab it with a knife and twist it while it's in there....

I'd say it's pretty much DEAD! but you could try deleting the partition (if you don't mind loosing all the data on it) with Windows disk manager in ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS in the control panel than try a format if there is a bit of life left in it this should work...

Hope it helped!

Hi my Transcend 320 GB harddisk is not getting detected. Storejet 320Gb

hello

connect the USB external hard disk to usb port by the way disconnect other working harddisks
available on the system, boot the system with bootable cd/floppy go to command prompt and run
chkdsk on this drive

Also download "mbrfix" connect all working harddisks along with the nondetecting harddisk and run mbrfix for the USB defective harddisk

Try using different USB data transfer cable, if power source adapter is used check for rated power output in multimeter for this adapter, if found defective replace it with new/good adapter with same
specifications

Bad luck if harddisk controller has failed you have to go in for new harddisk

GOOD LUCK ooo
