Access may be a little awkward...remove side cover to gain space.
Either push and twist (bayonet) or unscrew anticlockwise.
Take to the dealer for replacement and they will likely do and show for no extra fee !!

How do you open the sewing head to change bulb on Pfaff 955 hobbymatic

To access the light bulb, use the button-hole foot to lift up the insert on the arm cover. Remove the cover. Hold the edge guide slightly tilted and push it into the opening in the head of the sewing machine. Press down on the lamp housing to hold it still. Push up on the bulb and turn it counter-clockwise. Once the bulb is loose, pull it down and out of the lamp housing. To replace the bulb, continue to hold the lamp housing. Push the new bulb into the housing and rotate it clockwise. Release the lamp housing and then use the button-hole foot to replace the cover.

Pfaff has the manuals for most of their machines here: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Support-and-Updates/Support . The Hobbymatic 955 support page is http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Support/3529 . The direct link to the manual is http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/Pfaff_935_955_HobbyMATIC-manual-EN-FR-DE-NL.PDF . See page 51 (page 59 of the PDF) for the directions to change the light bulb, These pictures may help you see how to get to the bulb. If you need a replacement button-hole foot, see http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/buttonhole-foot-low-shank-new-1932l.aspx .

I hope this helps.

Bar that sewng foot is attached to for raising & lowering suddenly will not drop sweing foot all the way down to plate. Any suggestions on how to fix?

It sounds like something is blocking the lever from coming all the way down. Clean and oil. Look for bits of lint or fabric. Use a flashlight and look very carefully and you may be able to see the obstruction.

Perhaps you accidently moved the switch that enables free hand embroidery? It's up and under next to the pressor foot lever. Slides forward and backward. Forward the pressor foot will go all the way down to the feed dogs. Slid back and it keeps the foot up off the feed dogs but allows the thread tension to work properly. It would be easy to accidently move it when operating the pressor foot raise/lower lever.

I have a Pfaff Hobbymatic 927, while I am sewing, when the needle goes down into material, sticks abit and gathers the material a little and then on bottom side of material threads of material show a...

Try changing to a new needle preferably size 80 universal. If you hear a little popping sound when you sew, that's telling you that the needle is bad and is no longer sharp. The needle either has no sharp point or has a bur on it which is pushing down into the material making a hole and on the way back out it's pulling the fabric with it. Let me know if this works for you. Good luck.
