I installed a Python 991 remote starter on my 2000 suburban. Everything seems to function properly except that the remote starter does not see when I put the key in and turn the ignition on. I can start with the remote starter and then use the key and drive. But if there is still time left on the remote start timer when I stop driving and then turn off the ignition / remove the key like normal, the vehicle will stay running until the remote start time runs out as if it was started and never driven. What wire do I need to check that would tell the remote starter that I used the key and turned the ignition on? Which should take over the remote starter and terminate the timer and just run off the key like normal. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Couple of times when you replace the remote battery, you might
have them not working/ responding but just follow the procedure below.
Stand
close to the car, hold down the open and close knobs for about 10
seconds. Press them at the same time for 3 seconds; then press the open
button as the car opens.
The above procedure is applicable to a lot of car brands. It does not matter how many knobs you might have on the remote fob.
Good luck and Rate this.
Cheers.

Make sure that the neutral safety wire (small black with white) sees a chassis ground. If you connected the toggle switch to the wire, confirm that the other side of that wire is connected to a good ground. Confirm that the hood pin switch wire (gray) is NOT seeing ground during remote start. All of the above are relevant for a vehicle with an automatic transmission. If the clicking sound that you hear is also flashing the parking lights, that is a remote starter error message. Six flashes concern the hood shutdown (-) or the brake shutdown(+). Seven flashes concern the neutral safety shutdown.
