My dell poweredge 2600 cannot enter bios

I have dell poweredge 2600 but after powering it up, it will show the dell page. if you now punch F2 to enter setup. the system will show blank screen

you need to set the boot device order. Usually F12.
or you can go to bios with F2 or F10.

your cd-rom is wrong you need the Instalation and Server Management CD. I think it's possible to download this cd at their site.

Hi the Power Supply also needs to be upgraded for the additional RAM and new CPU . Please look into this aspect. My opinion a slightly Overrated PS would be better .

i replaced one of the hard drives in my poweredge. how do i get it to copy from the good hard drive?

The BIOS check can freeze for many reasons.

Can you tell me if this is an existing system that was working fine and then had this problem, or is this a new (or new to you) system?

Can you give more information on what is actually showing on the screen?

Disable dhcp
You may need to go to BIOS setting and disable PXE Boot option. It should be under Integrated Devices, or the Network Device section of BIOS.

My dell poweredge 2600 wont load up
  1. Can you access the Bios configuration on boot by pressing F2? Check the setting
  2. By load up do you mean your server software does not boot? use F10 on post from the utility partition main menu under Run System Utilities.
  3. Is the server working with RAID? Press CTRL + R and check the RAID
I am not going to say check all the cables because I am sure you will have already?!?

Enter the set up (BIOS) menu by tapping the F2 key. Hold down the <Alt> key and depress the <E> then the <F> keys in succession. This will force the motherboard to load default settings and also force the motherboard to redetect all IDE devices. Note: The selection for the floppy drive will be set to ON. If you do not have one then you must disable floppy in set up (BIOS) menu.

You can check process in System Information....to do this
Go to program>Accessory>system tools>System Information

OR chec in BIOS. It definatley list all h/W devices..Also Check if another monior is working

I can suggest to upgrade firmware..

Dell poweredge 2600 server recently display a message " No boot device available Press F1 to reboot or F2 to setup" Please why?
Did you experience a power event? Go to BIOS (F2), and make sure that RAID is Enabled. If RAID got turned off (power event, BIOS reset), then it will give you that message. If RAID is already enabled, then you may need to repair your operating system. If something else happened (drive failures, drives removed, etc.), then the array may be completely gone. Call Data Recovery services if it is critical you retreive the data.

DELL Poweredge 2600
The Dell original standard CD drive shipped with the PE2600 is incapable of 'understanding' the latest generation of bootable CD's (no matter what the BIOS says).

As far as I can tell, it's not fixable in the firmware ..

However you can swap it out for a more modern drive - such as the TS-L462C (which is a plug in replacement combined DVD reader / CD reader/writer - and Dell post the required drivers on their PE 2600 web pages, so I assume it must be a 'supported' solution)
