I'm not sure if ordinary universal remotes would work on the player. I would suggest trying the auto-set function on a universal remote first to see if it works. If not, you can buy a remote specifically for that model for around $20 at this site:

You can check this site for the remote. If this doesn't have the right DVD player there are other places to look for new remotes. Best Buy.com has a replacement parts section on the site and you can check by brand or model number of the DVD player.
I sucessfully programed the AUX button on my Cable remote to my Coby DVD player (model DVD-227) using code 21107. You can also try these codes: 20778, 21086, 21351.

There is no code to program our DVD players with your Universal remote, you need to use the remote that came with the player.
I have a COBY DVD player TF-DVD7005 that hadn't been used in a while. When I charged the battery and the light went from red to green, nothing happens when I push play and the DVD doesn't spin. Could the battery be dead despite the green light and where would I get a new one?
