Hitachi Framing Gun Not Firing - Bad Battery?

Hitachi Franing Gun Not Firing.

I have a NR90GR Hitachi Framing Gun and it appears that the battery might be defective. I charge the battery every night and the nailer works for about 10 minutes and then the gun stops nailing. What might I being doing incorrectly?

Does the fan run and the light blink ont he nailer? I have one that I just bought. I put in the wrong type of nails and got one stuck. I had to take the front apart to clear it and now the damm thing wont fire. The green light blinks and the gas cartridge is basically full, even the fan does run after I release the push lever, but no fire???

I wonder if yours is the same as mine did fire for a couple nails first just fine then got jammed...

I will try to charge the battery more.... MAybe like yours it needs a strong charge for the spark...

Ended up realizing a couple things were wrong with mine. When I took it apart to clear the jam after the third nail did not fire properly, I must have not put it together perfectly as the little tab which moves a switch was not set right and that was causing mine not to fire. After this was repaired it fired twice more and then the fan quit. I took the fan motor out and it runs perfectly when connected to the battery. The little wires connecting to the fan show 8.o volts on the multimeter until I connect eh fan and then it drops to 0.. So it seems the problem is the curcuit board not allowing enough current for the fan now? Wow what a lot of issues and I spent over $400 and now still do not have a nailer that works? Any help or suggestions? Does anyone want a guns which is new except the $100 curcuit board is not working?

SOURCE: Can I use paslode roundrive nails in a Hitachi NR90GC Gas Nailer

Yes, BUT the paslode Round drive nails and known to cause driver jamms due to the excessive paper used in the spacing of the nails.

SOURCE: hitachi nail gun,piston/nail push rod

You have one or more worn o-rings in the head of the gun. They direct the air to the proper parts of the gun to first drive the nail then to return the driver to the top of the gun for the next nail. Depending on the manufacturer and your model number, some companies make kits to replace the o-rings (always replace all of them). For some companies you have to get a breakdown of the gun and order each o-ring seperately.

SOURCE: my hitachi nail gun NR90gc2 will not fire

Check the date of the bottom of the gas. With the gas removed when you fire it you should hear a faint spark sound from the top. If gas is in date try putting it in your pocket for 10 minutes to warm it up. Open the front and make sure the piston is pushed all the way up into the machine.

Hitachi nr90ad framing nail gun fires one nail then will not retract fully and dry fires. Have to push firing rod back manually.

Have you disconnected it from the air source and deep cleaned the nail gun? Sometimes even a tiny bit of dirt can block the rails the rod runs in. Once cleaned add a small amount of oil to the rod runners.

Paslode impulse framing nailer , iv cleaned gun and oiled , the fan works etc . seems to only fire if i have fully charged battery ,once used for about five minutes it stops firing . only way to get it...

When it stops firing is the little light on the side of the handle green or red? If it is red then the battery is draining down too quickly. Either the fan switch has malfunctioned causing the fan to run all the time (I have seen this before) or you got either a faulty battery or charger.

Can I use paslode nails

probably as long as they are the same nail BUT nailers are often very finnicky, probably by design, to encourage users to buy brand nails. would recommend NOT mixing brands with nailers and nails, from personal experience.

My hitachi nailer wont fire

Start with the basics:
First check that the butane (or whatever gas is used) canister is full. If empty, put in a new one.

Second check to make sure your battery is fully charged to be able to fire the spark to work the nail gun. If not get the battery charged and/or replaced as needed.

Third make sure all of the safeties are working properly and that you have them engaged to the piece of wood you are nailing when you try the trigger.

If beyond that it does not work it could be a bad trigger, a bad safety switch, or even a bad connection from the battery to the device.
