Emachine model T3418 problem

Pc power lite and fan comes on but nothing else happens. fan stays on.

    My modem and monitor comes on but the screens says, "The monitor works, check PC and signal cable" And nothing is wrong with my "signal cable" what ever that may be and my pc is fine.And i am so frustrated with this freakin computer....

My dad and I fixed our emachines T3418 by changing the boot order from CD-ROM to harddisk by going into the Bios and switching the options. I sincerely hope this can help fix your computer problems. By the way, how do you clean the fan? I know the theory, but I have not tried it. Thanks in advance!

If you have a desktop system and it is in a no power state, I'd replace the power supply (Or if available test with a known good) before I'd replace teh motherboard, Power supplies normally fail 1st

Emachine T6426 PC..I push power button and fans come on and there is a yellow light where the blue one is suppose to be..Nothing else happens??????

If all of the fans come on, check to see if the fan is blowing on the power supply if it is not than you are going to have to replace the power supply. please keep me informed cause there is more that we can do if needed ok.

Cant find the fuse.
the only fuse i know of is inside the power supply. never seen a fuse blow though. maybe powersupply is bad seen that before. it is a switch mode supply and has to have a load on it to check.

Can not find heat sink switches on motherboard emachine t2862
Heat sink switches? I have to assume that you're talking about a dead mother board but the fans and the LED on the mother board are OK? This is a classic eMachines problem. Their power supplies glitch and take out the mother board sometimes the power supply goes bad too.

I have emachine model t3418 the computer was acting funny so i put in a restore cd the restore cd that came with it was for another model so it messed up my computer when i got the right restore cd it...

Emachine problems
Hi..

Since your computer is working but no display at all. Hope this steps would be helpful in your problem.


1. Turn on your computer, If the problem works again and no display.

2.Turn off your computer by pressing long your power botton until the fan stops properly.

3. Unplug you computer 220volts power chord at the back of your computer.

4. Reconnect again the 220volts power chord after 1 minute.
