Where can I purchase the parts and how do I get the instructions?

  • Anonymous Dec 05, 2011

Thanks for trying. I will buy the parts and go from there or hire someone to do the repair. At least I have some idea of what the problem probably is.

When it shuts off and the green power light goes off, press both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set (not the remote) and hold both for about five seconds and release.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks and then 3 blinks and repeat it several times.

What is the error code?

It means no error found, if you had unplugged the set it clears the error buffer, if so plug in and try to turn set on again and perform test again.

2,2 is short protection--98% chance one of the pico fuses that protect the convergence circuit are blown, depending on actual model number set uses either or or two chips---pretty straight forward repair---parts cost under 25 dollars, and I happen to have start to finish instructions for this repair in most Mitsubishi models.

  • Anonymous Dec 03, 2011

As for the instructions I have them (they are from a friend who has repaired as I have hundreds of these sets) Give me a email address and I will forward them to you--if posted here others will copy them for free.

Best place for the parts is Suburban Electronics---they have internet catalog and the instructions tell you what you will need------if the model is WS-55819 IT WILL USE TWO of the stk-392-570 chips and I have photos of the board--if 2,2 there are also two pico fuses and one or both are bad as well.

Once you get the instructions you will know if you can do the repair.

    They are very detailed.

Reply as soon as you can as this site may soon shut down completely.

I am having a problem with my Mitsubishi medallion HD1080 . I turn it on and it turns off right away. It won't stay on for 3 seconds shuts off by its self. Can somebody help me?

Hello,

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the tv there are few capacitors and IC.any of this ic is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop.

Hope this will helpout...

Mitsubishi 65" LCD (1080P, DLP) keeps shutting down until it "warms up". After shutting down the power led flashes yellow for a minute or so, at which time I power it up again. This cycle repeats 1 to 4...

Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV may require service.

I have a 55 inch Mitsubishi medallion 1080i and it will just shut off however the green power light stays on..I've reset it a couple of times and I can turn the tv back on and sometimes the screen is blue...

I had the same exact problems. So before you go poay a repair person $800 to tell you it is the capacitors. It is simple to repair yourself. Total repair costs will be abouyt $60-$80 plus the time it takes which it took me approximately 2 hours. Now I am good with computers and electronics overall but I looked the how to reapirs up online and it was quite straight forward without any exstensive issue causing work. The main thing is rounding up the capacitors which in my case were found at radio shack as well as all the other items you need. To find out the details on repairs you need to type in "how to replace 55 inch mitsubishi medallion 1080i capacitors. I dont have the details or web page I used still around to referencew you to or i most certainly would. Hope this helps.

Projection TV keeps shutting down

Good Day;

Sounds like you have a bad green picture tube that has failed. To check this out; remove front speaker grill, remove small panel, you will see three CRT's (pictue tubes) sticking down, remove the little board on the middle tube then restore power. If TV stays on more then likely the CRT is bad but not always the driver on board could also be bad, check voltages.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Mitsubishi VS-50707 shuts down sporadically

you can do a self-diagnosis test by pressing the menu and input/device button on set for 5 sec and see what error code it gives you. Count the blinks followed by a short pause then more blinks. This is the error code.

Projection TV keeps shutting down

I just took my Mitsubishi WS-65315 65" in to be repaired for the same problem and was told that it needed a new main circuit board part number 930b899005 as was told they wanted to charge me $1100.00. So I told them not to do the repair and picked up my tv and found that same part at Sears parts for only $225.00. Some of these TV repair places are theifs.
