If you mean that your camera won't format the card, make sure you're using a card the camera can use. For example, if your camera can only use SD cards, then it won't work with an SDHC card.

If the 'CARD NOT INITIALIZED' error appears: First check that the SmartMedia is inserted in the correct direction. You can also try wiping the gold-colored contact area on the SmartMedia with a soft cloth. Remove the batteries from the digital camera, leave them for at least an hour and then reload the batteries and check whether the camera recognizes the SmartMedia. If the 'CARD NOT INITIALIZED' error still appears, contact the store where you purchased the camera or the nearest FUJIFILM authorized service center in your country.
Pulled Harddrive and ethernet card, no error. Installed hard drive started machine, no error. Installed ethernet card, restarted machine got error. I am now replacing the ethernet card to resolve issue.
