Connecting a sony blu ray 350 to denon 1601/ home theatre

I just purchased a sony Bluray 350 and I connected it by HDMI to the sony bravia. The store told me to attach a co-axial cable from the blu ray to the denon receiver but I still can't sound from the home theatre. Is there a special setting on either the blu ray or Denon I must do to get sound

Yes select audio optical out on your Blu Ray Player under Audio settings and make sure the Denon is set to Optical or Auto in. You should be set to go

How can I get my Yamaha RX-V383 amplifier to work with my Sony BDP-S5100 Blu-ray player?

Hi,

Please double check that you're using multiple cables from your blu ray and not just one. A coax cable can connect your bluray player to your amp and then another cable from hdmi output can connect to your projector.

If you need more help in figuring out exact cable types and detailed home-theatre setup guide, you can reach out to dolby as well by calling 415-558-0200. They do home theatre setup as well.

Thank you.

Yes you can use. Normally HDMI converters comes with external power supply. so it will not affect anyway to the BD player.

I have bouight a samsung home theatre system that comes complete wiht a DVd player - i also have a samsung blu ray player - naturally ithought they would be compatible!! how wrong i was!! the connections...

You have several ways to do this. You can hdmi cables from the two units and plug them into your tv if it supports hdmi and run the audio out portion on the back of the tv and hook that into one of the audion inputs on the surround unit. Or you run audio directly out of the bluray using rca, digital coax, or digital optical cable. Turn the surround reciever to the corresponding input that you choose to use.

Trouble hooking up sony components..Bravia, Home theatre, blu-ray

Got your post, I will work with the model #s. Get back with you soon. Also a tip for now: HDMI carries true digital video and audio so you may not need the optic cables.

Toshiba HDTV + SONY PLAYSTATION 3 + SONY Home Theatre DAVHDX265

I have looked up the infomation on your TV I noticed that your TV has two HDMI input plugs. Since your SONY BRAVIA is hooked up to one port, you need to buy another HDMI cable for your PS3. On your tv remote you should have an option to switch from video 1 to video 2 so then you can switch from the SONY BRAVIA to the PS3 the problem is you will only hear your PS3 Sound from you TV. If you want to hear your PS3 sound from your SONY BRAVIA you need to buy an optical cable (also called TOSLINK) to connect from your PS3 to the SONY BRAVIA.

Hope that helps!

Please help with getting 5.1 sound from my TV!

You must run a Digital Optical cable from your PS3 to your reciever. Then press your function button on your recievers remote until you see SAT/CABLE on your recievers display. Next go to your PS3 settings and go to Sound settings, then Audio Output settings, and select Digital out (OPTICAL) then your done. This is the only way to get true digital sound from your PS3 to your reciever.
