Simon 3 alarm system not speaking when it calls me!

When the alarm calls me there is nothing on the other end and in about 30 sec it hangs up on me. It calls me about 6 times and it is always the same. I don't know what to do. Could somebody possibly help me with this issue?

I just installed a Simon 3 and I have the same problem. One of the window sensors was reporting a low battery condition and I got a phone call every minute until I had to delete the sensor from the unit. The phone is basically in "listen" mode and I can tell that the alarm is not going off but I can't figure out how to find out over the phone what the problem is or how to disable it remotely

The comm mode is probably set incorrectly. It should be "Voice Dialer" if you wish for it to speak to you on the other end. If it is left set up in default, it simply calls, perhaps to page someone, but hangs up.. I experienced this as well until I read elsewhere about the Voice Dialer option.

Open the front cover, enter the installer code and "add" the new phone number in "Option 4" as the Primary phone number. "Option 5" is the secondary phone number location on the Simon 3.

Entry delay is set correct but I want it to call out more quickly when the alarm actually goes off. It seems to wait too long. Do the entry delay and the actual alarm call out delay always the same?

Programming starts on page 17.

Dialer Delay is option 17 on page 29. It's default setting is 30 seconds.

To set Dialer Delay, press:
1.Add
2.Option #
3.17
4.Use the numbered keys to enter the time 005 -
254 seconds (all entries must be 3 digits).
5.DONE
To turn off Dialer Delay, press:
1.Delete
2.Option #
3.17
4.DONE

After I arm my Simon 3,the siren goes off. like the alarm has been tripped and nothing has been opened. What should I try?

When you push the status button after the alarm system has triggered, what message does it give you. That should tell you what is triggering.

Check and make sure they did not put a secondary number in Option 5. also I would delete the account# in Option 7.

I can get the cell back up to work on my simon 3

The vell module is not like a cell phone. It is specifically set up to go to the alarm.com network. You need to have an alarm company involved. Alarm.com can send you e-mail or tect messages if you have a smartphone, but you are going to be about $25-$30 per month to get that service.

Some or most new alarm systems have a pager feature built in. but it speaks in code to pager you would need manual to do the programing and understand the code. You may also want to ask the Police how the feel about you calling them to get a dispatch.

I have been installing alarm systems for over 30 years. A GFI circuit's main purpose is to kick the breaker to prevent electrical shock. You will most likely find these in kitchens, bathrooms, outdoors and basements. The reason most alarm manufacturers do not want you plugging into one of these is they are sensitive to humidity and are more suseptical to cutting off electric power to the outlet. Therefore they are less reliable in providing power to your alarm system. Over the years there have been situations where I had no other choice but to plug into a GFI circuit. Doing this will not harm the system but it will increse your chances of losing power to the system.

Problem about remote access by phone or cell phone

You have the right info are you using the master code?

How to gain access to the Control Panel:
1. Call the panel and let the phone ring twice then hang up.
2. Wait at least 10 seconds and call the panel again. You may wait up to 40 seconds
before calling again.
3. The panel should answer on the first ring. You won’t hear any prompt when the
system answers.
4. Press the * button on your telephone and you will hear system activated.
At this point you may perform the actions listed in the following table of phone commands.
CODE refers to the master and access codes programmed into your system.

you can disconnect the power and the batteries. The manul should tell you how to open it up and see where the batter is. You just need to unplug it.
