When ever you get an error code, try first resetting the code:
1. Disconnect power for about two minutes.
2. Connect back power.
3. If code re-appears, test and eventually replace faulty part.

F2 - E6 Cancel key drive line open

This is due to the control board not functioning properly as it should be. Either buy a new control board for your appliance or get it repaired.

I would personally recommend www.partsimple.com, since they have the replacement parts at lowest price and also repair service for faulty control board that too again lowest price compare to other online vendors.

F2/E6 fault code implies a Cancel key drive line open. This means the key pad ribbon connector could be loose or dirty where it connects to the oven control board or a faulty oven control board.

Press Cancel. If the error code returns after 60 seconds, replace the key pad. If it continues to display F2/E6 after replacing the key pad, replace the oven control board. The parts can be ordered from Sears PartsDirect

NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the oven before servicing.

Our oven read a problem # E6 F2 what that's mean?

Hello,

The E6-F2 error code means that the control board thinks there is a problem with the cancel button on the touch pad. Sometimes its due to a loose connection from the ribbon cable on the touch pad. You can push cancel and clear it and if within 5 or under the error code returns the touchpad needs to be replaced. But first check/have the connection checked to make sure its tight. The way modern things work though is grand and Whirlpool say if after replacing touchpad the error code returns once again the clock/control board is what needs to be replaced.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F2-E6 error code indicates an open/shorted oven temperature sensor and to solve this problem the temp.sensor needs replacement. If you want to be sure then before replacing the sensor you can test it with a voltmeter for around 1100ohms....if it reads more then 1120 ohms then it needs replacement however, if the reading is between 1080-1120 ohms then it is the control board that needs replacement. However, after reading your problem it seems that the sensor is causing this and replacing it is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

My oven is giving me an error of E6 F2, what does that mean

Hi,

Equipment is Whirlpool double oven RBD305PDS14 built-in. After a very stormy summer 2007, I thought a power surge may have zapped the control board. Problem initially presented on display as error & fault "E6 F2"; simply pressing "Timer Off" would usually clear this error & fault code.

However, some months later, the display would often go completely blank followed by the beep sequence "short-long-short-short-short" (Morse code: dit dah dit dit dit). No error & fault code would appear. Pressing any keypad oven control did not work at all in this condition. When power was cycled at the breaker panel, the usual "PF" with clock display did not appear.

[TURN OVEN POWER OFF AT BREAKER!!!]

After following the excellent information on "how to remove the control panel" posted in this forum, I first tested the "control panel thermal fuse" (refer to the tech sheet that should be behind the control panel once it is removed). It showed a closed circuit.

I turned my attention to the "flexible" keypad connector cable (error & fault code "E6 F2" is a keypad or keypad connector problem; again, refer to tech sheet). The control panel has a board mounted female connector with two tabs that may be gently pulled upward to release the flexible cable.

I cleaned the flexible cable contact area (it seats into the board mounted female connector) carefully with a Q tip and some isopropyl alcohol. I reinserted the flexible cable and gently pressed down on the two tabs (noted above) on the board mounted female connector. VERY GENTLY tug on the flexible cable to insure it is gripped by the connector.

After all of this monkey business, I re-mounted the control panel display panel on the oven and restored power. So far, so good. After applying power, the "PF" with clock display always appears. I am able to set the clock and press "Start". Over functions normally. The clock displays as normal and I no longer observe the problem I described above.

BTW, I noted the incoming 240V has transient suppression (no surge protection, however
