As I spent 45 minutes in chat with you, I have a vested interest in this problem. For some reason, the chat was disconnected. However, there is also no record of the chat on FixYa...
It appears that this is pirated software, and that is the reason it is not installing. Please advise the source of purchase. Thank you for using FixYa.

Please recognize that there was no offense intended in the statement about pirated software. There are many ways that people receive software, and unfortunately, there are many of us who purchase software only then to later discover that it is pirated. It has happened to a family member as well, so I am certainly well aware that there does not have to be an illegal intent on the part of the person who ends up with that piece of software that might not be legitimate. This is why I asked about the source of receipt, as it could help to identify if it is a known counterfeiting-related source.
I felt that this may not be a legitimate copy of the program only because of the message we received, and the fact that all errors found in this vein relate back to what turns out to be invalid software. It was absolutely not an accusation, and was only intended to try to help. I was unaware that the software has already been installed on another machine, as this had not previously been stated. Was that machine also a Vista Home Premium 32 machine?
Yes, the license for the standard Home & Student version includes installation on up to 3 PCs, and the message you got is not related to activation. The activation piece, as you know, comes later in the installation.
There may also be an issue with updates on Vista. Are you using Automatic Updates, and can you tell me whether SP1 is installed or not? Are there any other issues with the machine? And, finally, I was going to next ask you to check the Program List from the Start button to see if the programs listed agree with those included in the Control Panel>Add/Remove list. This will help us to find out if there is a registry issue that could be "hung up" regarding the prior installation of the trial package.
Do you know if that trial was used, or was it just uninstalled? I will very gladly continue to help you until we reach resolution, though as it relates to installation there can be many, many reasons for this failure. Thank you for using FixYa.
